"I’m not done, baby boy." Xavier clears his throat.

Giosuè nods. "Go on, Daddy."

"The point I was making was related to what Jako said—the only constant in life is change. Even if the man finds the river in the saying, thevery riveritself is different—different water molecules, different rapids, different everything. Step in it, sure—but it’s not the same. It cannot be—that’s the fundamental dilemma of life."

I nod. "So, you’re saying that I can be a Little and a Daddy."

Xavier turns to me with a bland look in his eyes. "Not… really. But also, yes. In a roundabout way. You can reach that conclusion by following the path I laid out with my lesson. The only constant is change—so no one shouldexpectyou to be any one thing all the time. No one is ever what they are in one moment the next or who they were in the past."

"I read that our cells regenerate every seven years," Faro muses. "That means that we’re literally not the same people—every part of us is different."

I smile at my brothers and their partners. "Thank you. You helped me feel better."

Xavier shoots me a smile. "Glad to hear that."

Giosuè rests his head on Xavier’s chest. "You can come in my same river twice, Daddy. I’ll always take your load."

Xavier rubs Giosuè’s hair. "You know just what to say to turn me on."

Rising to my feet, I leave this group of philosophers to their own devices. I hum to myself as I step in the kitchen, refilling my glass with limoncello.

I can be a Little Daddy—there’s nothing wrong with that.

This revelation fills me with so much happiness I can barely think.

After Lazaro leaves, I thread my fingers through Jako’s. "Want to head to the swimming hole, Daddy?"

Jako turns to me with his dazzling eyes. He opens his mouth to speak—but before he can push a word out, the most powerful wave of lust washes over me.

My cheeks flush pink, and I clench my thighs to prevent myself from growing hard. Oh—Daddy looks beautiful.

The feelings I used to get when I stalked him in his vegetable garden bubble up inside me. Peeping through his window. Beating my virgin shaft as I fantasized about him.

Now, Jako’s mine.

Jako nods… slowly. "That’s not a bad idea."

I rise to my feet, then tug Jako off the chair he’s sitting on. "My Daddy and I are heading to the swimming hole—no one better follow."

Giosuè shoots me a look—then stifles a snort. "Whatever you say, bro."

"Bro?" I tap my foot on the ground. "How aboutdear brother.Show me a little respect."

Giosuè devastates me with a dismissive wave as he snuggles against Xavier. "Get out. I won’t miss ya."

Jako squeezes my hand. "Come on, naughty boy. Leave your brother to chill with his Daddy."

Jako leads the way off the patio and toward the forest. I point him toward the swimming hole—because silly Daddy of course doesn’t know how to get there.

Why a nervous butterfly takes up residence in my tummy, I’m not sure. Maybe it’s because I’m so close to the man I’ve loved since I was a boy and who I want to be with forever. Maybe it’s because of Xavier’s deep chat about philosophy and life.

Or maybe, there’s a much simpler explanation—a naughty one. Jako wants to do something dirty to me. I can feel it.

This last explanation has merit. A sizzling electricity pops in the air, sparking and fizzing. It lights me up, making my breath terse, and goosebumps creep across my skin.

I stop next to an oak tree, then flit my gaze up to Jako. "Do you feel this, too? Or is it only me?"
