Page 69 of Hold Me Forever

The moment seems to last, yet it feels I’ve gotten there too fast. He hits the right spots, and the way he stretches me is incredible, but I should last longer than this. How am I peaking already?

“God!” I murmur.

“Wait for me.” He knows too—he ought to know. My muscles are tightening, my clit is saturated.

I don’t know if I can. “Rob…” My voice breaks as I squeeze hard to halt my climax; maybe too hard, since Rob has to restrain himself too.

He sighs when I lift myself up, freeing him—and me—from the pressure. His eyes widen. I know he’s sayingthat was close.

My breasts are now at kissing distance from his lips, so he does just that. His tongue circles my nipples one after the other. A tide of pleasure sweeps through me while I sense his intention to slide his hand between my folds. But maybe thinking that would arouse me too hard, too soon, he decides to massage my butt. I relax, returning the favor by pressing my open palms against the back of his shoulders. My fingertips trace the curves of his trap muscles—ones I caught a glimpse of under his shirt when he was sleeping on my shop couch.

His hands move up, resting on my shoulders. Pressing me down, he gradually enters me again, but my pent-up desire can’t be tamed any longer. I’ve had two lives, and I’ve never wanted a man so bad in either one of them.

Because I’ve never known another Rob.

Seeing me in agony, doing everything I can to hold on, he finally gives me the cue. “I’m ready.”

He moves fast this time, his thrusts deep.

“Amber-Rose…”

My body shakes as he climaxes with me. An incredible release—and through it all, his hands never let go, his eyes never wander elsewhere, always on me. He’s my truth, truer than the ocean we’re floating on.

To say that my life is back on track doesn’t give an accurate picture of where I am. With Rob, my life is always on track—my fears are just part of it. They’re not flaws, and he won’t let me falter because of them.

I fall into his embrace—his hold is firm, giving me a sign that he wants to stay inside me longer. How does he make everything seem so effortless for me? When I think about tomorrow, I feel ready. Whatever waits around the corner, I’ll say, ‘Bring it on!’

A smile stretches my face.

“What?” Rob whispers, apparently feeling my lips move against his chest.

I simply writhe and reposition myself, straightening my body so I can get a better grip on him, but not letting us part.

My heart is rejoicing, celebrating this moment that is a leap bigger than a man on the moon. But next time, I’ll be looking for a leap of a different kind—one that’s so high, the thrill will hurt. He’d better be ready.

AMBER

I received confirmation from Captain Clara Cloutier that the man in the CCTV footage from Tijuana turned out to be someone else. So Aidan Rolland remains elusive—but for now, it looks like the threat is gone.

Feeling on top of the world, I’ve blitzed through Rob’s order of Captain Robsons—creating six of the bears myself in two days. I know that Prince so-and-so is leaving tomorrow, so as soon as I finish, I rush to Newport.

With more than just the bears on my agenda.

The Hartley Marine complex looks even bigger in daylight. Not wanting to ruin the surprise (andthe surprise), I stop by the receptionist just like any visitor.

“Hi, how can I help you?” the lady greets me.

It doesn’t feel right to just call him ‘Rob’ here—I’m inside the headquarters of his empire, and like Rocky did, I want to ask for Rob like he’s the boss. “I’m here to see Mr. Hartley.”

She smiles at me. “Which one?”

Of course, there are two of them. “Rob.”

“Let me see if he’s in. You are?”

“Amber-Rose.”
