For me, falling in love had been a disaster, until Amber-Rose. There’s no doubt in my mind, and in my heart, she’s the one I want to spend the rest of my life with. The woman has kindness, patience, and understanding that is as pure as the driven snow. It’s in her eyes, her touch, her words and her deeds. She’s the guardian of my heart now. And I will guard her with my life.

Having her with me again this morning proves that I wasn’t dreaming. She told me her shop is closed every Thursday—so lucky me, I have her to myself for the whole day.

I’m doubly blessed. With her, I can face anything.

Except Amber-Rose herself when she’s running like Usain Bolt.

“You okay?” she asks as her smartwatch announces that we’ve been running for five miles.

“Yeah,” I huff, trying to catch up with her.

“I can’t remember the last time I was at this beach.” There’s no sign of her panting, like this is a romantic stroll. Hell, at the rate she’s going, I regret getting up early to chase the sunrise at Venice Beach.

“What a great morning.” She inhales deeply, as if she’s in paradise. “I’m definitely making the most of LA.”

My bed is definitely the best place to be in LA right now. I shouldn’t have played down my pain when she asked me before we left the house if ajogwould be okay for me.

The sky above us brightens, and she slows down her pace. The light converges on her glorious hair. She grins from ear to ear, shaking the wavy ends of her mane as she loosens her hair tie. I don’t think she bothered to brush it this morning. She’s leaving her chest-length tresses messy, the remnants of our sex intact. Just the way I like it. The world needs to know that she’d been well taken care of last night—by yours truly.

“I’m never gonna run with you again,” I say when we wrap up our exercise.

“Sorry, Robson baby,” she coos. “You should’ve told me that you’re still sore!”

“I’m just being a baby.” I put my pitiful face on, and a soft peck lands on my cheek, apparently reinforcing her apology. “Did you used to compete?”

“In college. And when I was at the University of Geneva, I joined their athletics team.”

“How many lungs do you have?”

“I used to be a free diver.”

I give her an a-ha look, and she smiles proudly at me.

We keep going along the beach. When I take off my shirt, Amber-Rose feasts her gaze on my torso.

“What?” I say as I wipe my abs with it.

“Your chest is too hot for public consumption,” she says, catching a glimpse of two girls staring at us in the distance.

Do I detect a hint of jealousy? She doesn’t want to admit it, but there is a sliver of possessiveness in her, and I like it. “They’re just staring at my bruises,” I respond, pulling her close.

“No, seriously, you were Cosmo bachelor of the year. How many girls out there want to strip you naked and drink your…um…fluid?”

I bear-hug her, and then tackle her into the sand, and she lets out a squeal. After a brief wrestle, I kneel over her, dropping my crotch on top of hers.

Now I’m feasting on her. My girl looks smoking hot wearing my top. She didn’t bring anything when she came over, so she’s surviving in my clothes. No fashion is sexier than having your girlfriend wear your stuff the morning after. The super-thin white Nike tee is drenched with her sweat. Though it hangs loosely on her frame, the wetness reveals her ravishing silhouette—her firm shoulders, her swelling breasts with her nipples poking out, and her tiny waist.

As she squirms, the hem of her t-shirt rolls up. With how tiny she is, my exercise tights look like normal shorts on her, but they can’t hide her curves.

“It’s only you,” I pant in her face. “I want no one else but you. Do you hear me, Amber-Rose?I don’t want anyone else.”

She smiles with satisfaction. She knows no other girls will ever get my attention, let alone my love. I think she just wanted me to say it out loud.

I get up and give her a hand. Her mood changes.

“Have you heard back from Blake?” she asks as we saunter back to the car. Last night I summoned my PI, Simon Blake, to get on Aidan’s trail.

“He’s still working on it.”
