“That outfit is adorable.”

The small woman had her hair pulled back in a high ponytail. “Thanks! What did you do to your arm? It looks sore.”

“Oh, it’s fine. Hack is just being overprotective.”

“Daddies tend to be.” The woman nodded and then gestured them forward. “Follow me. And welcome to LittleLand.”

They stepped into a large store. There was an impressive domed skylight flooding the big room with light. It was colorful yet, at the same time, tasteful. The walls were painted with murals. There was a jungle scene directly in front of her. Dinosaur-shaped signs indicated which direction to take.

“LittleLand? It sounds like a theme park.”

The other woman clasped her hands together. “That would be amazing, wouldn’t it? I’m thinking about it, but I don’t know where I could put it. I need to find a bit of secluded land where I could build a theme park and a hotel for people to stay. Plans . . . for now, I’ll just be happy with my shop.” She smiled at them both. “Hi, I’m Bonnie, by the way.”

“I’m Greer.”

“Hack.” He moved closer, placing his hand on her lower back. She leaned against him, glad he was here.

“So happy you’re both here. Let me get you a tablet so that you can make a list of anything—”

“Bonnie.” A deep voice interrupted her. A huge man wearing a deep scowl stomped into the room.

Greer’s eyes widened and she instinctively stepped closer to Hack. This guy was terrifying. He had a strong face. Firm jaw. Tattoos ran up his neck and over his hands. He was dressed rather formally in black pants, a white shirt, and a lightweight black jacket.

He screamed danger.

“Yes, Titus?” Bonnie asked, turning around to glare up at the man.

Whoa. She was brave. This guy looked like he could snap her like a twig.

“You aren’t supposed to open the front door without me. What do you think you’re doing?”

“This is our eleven a.m. appointment, though.”

“Doesn’t matter.” The man turned his dark gaze on them. “They could have been dangerous.”

Bonnie sighed, rolling her eyes. “They clearly aren’t dangerous.” Bonnie bounced over to them, carrying a tablet. “Ignore Titus. He’s always a grump. Here, use this if you see a lot of things you like. Or you can just make a wishlist to order online later on. We deliver and we’re discreet. Wouldn’t want the neighbors to see a spanking bench getting delivered. Or a changing table.”

She winked at them as Greer felt herself growing hot. She glanced over as Titus made a grumbling noise. He was like a big, protective dog.

Not one you’d want to pat.

More like one you’d try to run from if you met them in a dark alley. Or pee yourself.

“He, um, is he your, um . . .” Shoot, she couldn’t just ask if he was Bonnie’s Daddy.

“He’s my bodyguard. My stepbrother insists that I have one. Don’t worry, he won’t bother you. He just hangs around me like a bad smell. Actually, he smells really good but don’t tell him I said that.”

Oh, Greer could promise that. She wouldn’t be saying anything to the big giant.

“We probably won’t be ordering much today,” Hack told her, taking the tablet. “But a wishlist sounds like a good idea.”

“We might not buy anything at all.” She shot Hack a look. She wasn’t letting him buy her anything.

“I’ll leave you to it.” Bonnie skipped off toward Titus, who glared over at them.

Yikes.

“You’re owed a treat. I thought you might like something from here.”
