Emily and Mr. Thomas continued their relationship in secret, doing their best to keep it hidden from their coworkers. They were always mindful of the risks and made sure to keep their personal lives separate from their professional ones.

"Emily, what's going on between you and the boss?" her coworker approached her later that day, her voice filled with suspicion.
Emily looked at her, panic setting in. She knew that she had to come up with an explanation, and fast.
"I...I can explain," she stammered, her mind racing.
But before she could say anything else, Mr. Thomas walked in. Emily's coworker looked at him, her eyes widening in shock.
"Sir, what's going on?" she asked, her voice trembling.
Mr. Thomas looked at her for a moment before speaking. "It's true," he said, his tone serious. "Emily and I are in a relationship," he admitted, to Emily’s surprise.
Emily felt her heart race as she looked at her coworker. She knew something like this would happen, but she didn't know how their coworkers would react.
But to her surprise, her coworker simply nodded and walked out of the office, leaving Emily and Mr. Thomas alone.
"Emily, are you okay?" Mr. Thomas asked, his voice filled with concern.
Emily looked at him, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. She couldn't believe that their secret was out, but she also couldn't deny the love she felt towards Mr. Thomas.
"I'm okay," she said, her voice a bit shaky. "But what are we going to do now?"
Mr. Thomas looked at her for a moment before speaking. "We'll deal with it," he said, his tone serious. “I’ll talk to the board and explain the situation. We'll make sure that we're not doing anything that could jeopardize our careers."
Emily nodded, feeling grateful for Mr. Thomas's support. She knew that their relationship was risky, but she also knew that she couldn't imagine her life without him. One day, as they were sitting in Mr. Thomas's office, he looked at her and smiled. "Emily, I know that our relationship has been unorthodox, to say the least," he said, his voice soft. "But I can't imagine my life without you. I love you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you."
Emily felt her heart race at his words. She looked at him and smiled, feeling grateful for the decision she make to give the two of them a chance.
"I love you too, sir," she said, her voice filled with love.
