She knew that she wasn't his type, but to hear that he had someone else in mind, caused her more pain than she could ever imagine.

Fighting back tears as she looked across the table at Zane, "I'm sure she would love to know how you feel. You're a great guy," she replied just as a tear rolled down her cheek. Wiping it quickly, "I just remembered I have to go manage something at the office for your afternoon meeting, I'll meet you back at the office." She exclaimed as she quickly stood up and grabbed her purse before rushing out of the restaurant.

As she kept walking, she could hear Zane calling her name, but she couldn't help feeling embarrassed about her behavior. Arriving at the entrance, she quickly walked to her car and finally allowed the tears to fall. As she drove out of the parking lot, she wasn't sure she could face Zane after the way she acted in the restaurant.

Chapter Four

Sitting at their table, Zane tried to figure out what had just happened. One minute, they were talking, and then the next minute, Nivea was in tears and rushing out of the restaurant.

"I see you still have a way with the ladies," Damien said, causing Zane to look up at him.

"Man, I don't even know what happened. Plus, what are you doing here?" Zane asked as Damien sat down in Nivea's chair.

"You know we always come here for lunch and far a Nivea, how about you start at the beginning?" Damien asked just the waiter, who arrived at their table to take Nivea’s food and drink away, and to get Damien's order.

Once the waiter walked away, "Nivea and I were just talking about our busy schedules," Zane replied as he replayed the conversation in his head.

Frowning, "What else did you two talk about?" Damien asked before taking a sip of his lemonade.

"We also talked about our personal lives and how busy we had been and that our personal life had suffered because of it. Then I asked her if she had anyone in her life."

"Is that when she got upset?" Damien asked as he leaned back in his seat.

Shaking his head, "No, she said that she hadn't found anyone yet and then she asked me if I had found anyone, and I told her that there was someone I was interested in and that's when her whole mood changed and she rushed out of here," Zane replied just as smile lit up Damien's face causing Zane to frown. "Why are you smiling?" Zane continued.

"Do you remember our conversation earlier?"

Damien asked before taking a sip of his drink.

Frowning, "Yes, I do! What about it?" Zane asked.

"Zane, think about it! Nivea has been in love with you for years, and you sit across from her and tell her you are interested in another woman. How do you expect her to respond? And let's not forget about your interaction with Faith a few minutes earlier, so she thought you were talking about Faith," Damien suggested, causing Zane to pause.

"Dangit!” He exclaimed as he shook his head.

"Now, you've caught on!" Damien replied.

"I messed up! I should have told Nivea that I was talking about her," Zane stated as he remembered the hurt look on Nivea's face as she rushed out of the restaurant.

"All you have to do is talk to her and let her know how you feel," Damien suggested.

"I think I know a way to show her how I feel, I just need your help to pull it off," Zane replied, causing a smile to light up Damien's face.

"I'm all ears!" Damien exclaimed.

As Zane outlined his plan, he hoped it worked.

Chapter Five

Later that night at Bones Steakhouse, Nivea couldn't stop thinking about the way she had acted earlier that day with Zane. Even when she got back to the office, she couldn't shake the embarrassment she felt luckily, Zane was in meetings the rest of the day, so she only saw him as she was leaving for the day and she said a quick goodbye before rushing out of the office.

"What's going on with you, Nivea?" Raven asked, taking her out of her thoughts.

"I'm fine! Why do you ask?" She replied before taking a sip of her appletini.

"I was asking you about your show tomorrow night, and you were zoned out?" Raven said as she shared a sly look with Robin, who was smirking.

"I'm sorry! I was just thinking about work," Nivea replied instantly, feeling guilty about lying.
