“It’s so sweet how you look after her,” Hadley said.

Bram would never get used to being described as sweet.

“I like seeing how sweet Addie tamed the grumpy Irish beast,” Matteo said with a shit-eating grin.

“Go away,” Bram muttered.

“Okay,” Hex said. “Call us when you’ve done it.” She blew a kiss. Behind her, Devyn gave him a thumbs-up.

Shaking his head, Bram headed for the bedroom. Addie was all moved in. She’d given up her apartment, and formally resigned from the job atOn the Rocks. Paddy had told her she had a place there whenever she wanted it, and he wanted to see the twins when they arrived. Bram had watched her carefully over the last week to see if there was any leftover trauma from her ordeal with Kozlov. But she seemed happy.

Addie was good at that. Not dwelling on the bad things, and moving on. For now, she was focusing on the impending arrival of the twins, although she liked to hang out with Hex in the command center and give the tech guru a hand.

She’d spoken with her parents as well. They were recovering from their encounter with Kozlov, and seemed genuinely happy for Addie.

He opened the bedroom door.

The light was still on in the bathroom. It didn’t bother him to sleep with it on. He knew she slept better with it. She was on her side in the bed, propped up with several pillows, and wearing one of his T-shirts. Her blonde hair was spread everywhere.

He felt a pang in his chest. Damn, he was a lucky bastard.

He sat beside her and stroked her bare leg.

She stirred, and when she saw him, she shot him a beautiful smile. “Morning.”

“Morning, sunshine.”

“Did you get up early?” She yawned.

“I got up to carve. I finished one for the babies.”

Addie sat up and pressed a hand to her belly. “Well, I know Fiona and Murphy will love it.”

Love flooded him. They’d decided—it had been Addie’s idea—to name the twins after his mother and sister. Murphy had been his ma’s maiden name.

“I love you, Addie.” It was getting easier and easier to say the words.

“And I love you right back.”

She was like a ray of sunshine in his bed. He knew he didn’t deserve her, but he was never giving her up.

“I have something for you,” she said.

He scowled. “I have something for you.”

She smiled and reached over to open a drawer of the nightstand. “Me first.”

She pulled out a frame and handed it to him. It was a picture of him, at around fifteen years old, with his ma and Fiona. Ma was smiling, Fiona was pulling a face at Bram. He was being a stoic teenager, but he had a faint tilt to his lips.

“Where did you get this?”

“Your dad. I emailed him.”

They’d spoken with him at the beginning of the week. Of course, Addie had charmed the old man. They’d promised to visit him after the babies were born.

“He said he has other photos. He misses them, too.”

Bram ran a thumb over Fiona’s face. Then he set the frame on the nightstand. Addie was helping him remember the good times, not just how he’d lost them.
