Everything was ready, except for him.

“Bram! The show is fabulous.” Eamon Farley appeared. The older Irishman was wearing a suit in an eye-searing pink color. He slapped Bram’s arm. “Justfabulous.”

“Thanks,” Bram rumbled.

Eamon looked at Killian. “The Irish. We have so many talents, and we’re artistic souls.” He slapped Bram’s back.

Nearby, Bram spotted Nick, Matteo, and Shade. The three men were grinning at him. The bastards. They were standing with Camden Morgan, who was also holding a beer.

“Now, I see some people are interested in buying the few pieces you’ve put up for sale. Let me go broker a good price for you.” Eamon winked. “I’ll have some good Irish whiskey ready for us to celebrate with.” He swept off.

Bram fought the urge to tug at his collar.

“Addie looks happy,” Killian said.

“Yeah, but the pregnancy has been tough on her the last few weeks. Over half of twin pregnancies have been delivered by now.”

Killian squeezed his shoulder. “She’s fine. She has a good doctor.”

Bram just grunted. He let his gaze trace her face. Her hair was up tonight, baring her long, elegant neck. She glowed and did look happy.

Someone called out for Killian, and with a nod at Bram, he moved away.

Bram just kept watching his wife.

They’d married in a simple ceremony at City Hall, then had a party atOn the Rocksto celebrate. Paddy had hired a great Irish band, and the whiskey had flowed all night.

Lately, Addie had done some contract work with Hex, helping with computer work at Sentinel Security, but she was also spending time putting together an online ballet course. She’d had a brilliant idea to combine all the things she liked.

Saskia was helping her and acting as a model in the videos. Addie was enjoying building the site, and putting the content together. Saskia was going to offer the course through her ballet school, but Addie had dreams to make the course available to everyone, including disadvantaged children who otherwise wouldn’t be able to make it to expensive dance lessons.

She was really excited to do work she loved, and stay at home with the twins.

Hex said something and Addie laughed again. Bram found himself smiling. Yeah, life was pretty damn good. He knew his ma and Fiona would be happy for him. He’d even had a few calls with his father that weren’t stilted and awkward. His da was actually excited to become a grandfather.

Devyn appeared at his side. “Now, don’t panic.”

Bram tensed.

“Addie’s in labor,” his friend said.

Blind panic washed over him. “What?”

“The babies are coming. She’s having some contractions. Nothing to panic about yet, as they aren’t too close together.”

Bram swallowed and just stared at her.

Devyn shook her head. “Hey, you’re a former special forces badass, remember? You’ve got this. I know you have a hospital bag in your truck because I helped her pack it.”

“She’ll be in pain. Giving birth is dangerous—”

“Women do it every day, big guy.”

“I can’t lose her,” he whispered.

Devyn’s face softened. “You won’t. You’re in the middle of the city, surrounded by excellent hospitals. Now, take a deep breath, because you need to be her support, and get her to the hospital.”

“Hospital. Right.” He saw Addie was sitting in a chair, taking some deep breaths. Hex, Lainie, Gabbi, Hadley and Saskia were with her. Saskia was holding her hand and Hex was looking at her phone, timing the contractions, he guessed.
