“Bram—” Her voice cracked.

He tucked her face to his neck and held her tight. He closed his eyes, relishing the feel of her in his arms. He’d missed her so damn much. So many nights he’d reached for her, and only found empty sheets.

He ran a hand down to her hip. She made a sound and shifted, and he hoped to hell he could keep his cock under control.

Then his fingers brushed her belly. He froze.

She lifted her head. She was fresh-faced, no makeup, and so damn sweet and beautiful. As always, she smelled like spring flowers. He had no right to touch her.

“It’s okay.” She took his palm and pressed it to her belly. “The baby’s about the size of a bell pepper. Although I think our baby might be a little bigger.”

He splayed his fingers, his chest tightening. Her stomach was firm, and he couldn’t believe that there was a baby in there.

One they’d made together.

“It amazes me every day,” she murmured. “I’m going to be the best mom ever.”

God, he hoped the baby looked like Addie. He caressed her stomach. She shifted, and he realized she was only wearing a large T-shirt. Most of her impossibly long legs and golden skin were on display.

Then he frowned. “This is my T-shirt.”

She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. “You left it. My pajamas don’t fit anymore, so…”

Damn. He liked it. He liked knowing that all this time she’d been wearing something of his. He toyed with the hem and saw her chest hitch. He looked up, and found her cheeks were pink.

“Addie…”

“Bram, I…” She leaned forward and pressed her lips to his.

Yes. Desire exploded like a fist to his gut. It never took much with Addie to leave him hungry. Everything about her entranced him.

He shouldn’t be touching her, but his tongue slipped into her mouth, and he cupped the back of her head. He kissed her back.

She made a hungry sound and straddled him. She slid her hands into his hair. “I missed you,” she panted. “I missed this.”

His heart knocked against his ribs. He slid his other hand down and cupped her ass over her panties.

She moaned, grinding down on his erection, which was now as hard as steel.

“Sunshine.” The word ended on a rough groan. He wanted to lay her on the couch and strip her naked. He wanted his face between her thighs.

There was pure need on her face. “Bram.”

Then the sound of a clearing throat abruptly interrupted them. “Everyone’s okay, I see.”

Addie squeaked, and Bram’s hands tightened on her. He glanced over her shoulder at the door.

Nick Garrick’s muscular form filled the doorway, and the man was fighting a smile. But as Bram’s friend took in the upturned living area, his smile faded.

Bram spun Addie back around on his lap. “The attacker fled. He was wearing a ski mask. Big guy. Didn’t say anything.”

Addie blinked, and for the first time noticed the mess in her living room. “Oh my God. My table.”

“And the guy clocked you, I see,” Nick said.

“I hit him harder.”

“Bram.” Distraught, Addie touched the swelling at the corner of his eye.
