She stroked her tongue against his. He groaned against her lips and slid a big, thick thigh between her legs.

Oh, God. The butterflies in her belly went haywire now. Each lick, nibble, and suck made her body heat rise. Her skin felt hot, and she was close to panting.

Then he pulled back. Ruddy color filled his face.

He ran his hands down her arms. Her belly filled with hot desire, and she wanted him to scoop her up and take her upstairs to that big bed of his.

“Come on, I’m taking you out,” he said.

She blinked. “Out?”

“To lunch. I’ll make sure we aren’t followed.”

“Lunch?”

His lips quirked. “On a date.” One hand skated along the side of her face. “We never got a chance to do that before. I want to take you somewhere nice.”

Her heart did a little pitty-pat. “A date.”

He nodded. “Get changed and we’ll go.”

CHAPTERSIX

Bram drove down the street, battling the traffic. He hated New York’s crowded streets. Sometimes he missed the narrow, mostly empty Irish country roads.

He glanced at Addie in the passenger seat of his truck. She was looking out the window, a faint smile on her face. She was glowing. Her skin was luminous.

His hands clenched on the steering wheel in an effort to stop from reaching out and touching her.

He’d given her his phone so she could call Paddy. Her boss had given her time off, told her to stay safe, and to call him if she needed anything. Bram knew he shouldn’t feel jealous of the man, but it was clear Addie liked the older bar owner.

Bram forced his hands to relax on the wheel. She wouldn’t need Paddy Ryan, because Bram would ensure she had everything she needed.

Thoughts of Pam made him scowl. He was still angry at what the woman had done. Interfering in his life for her own selfish purposes.

“Bram?”

He glanced at Addie. There was worry in her eyes.

“You’ve got that thundercloud look. If you don’t want to go out for lunch—”

“I do. I know a place. It’s small, quiet.”

And Matteo “Hades” Mancini had gone ahead to scout it out and ensure it was safe. Bram had sent the man strict instructions. He wanted to take her out on a date.

He’d never taken her anywhere. For those ten nights, he’d been crazy for her. They’d mostly eaten take out at her place, but most of the time they’d rarely left her bed. He’d been so hungry for her, and for the way she’d come alive under his hands.

Remembering, his cock tightened. Most of the time, he’d barely made it through the door before he was tearing her clothes off.

Then, he’d gone away on a mission and lost her. He hated that she’d believed that he’d just used her for sex, then left her.

Bram was going to spoil her, treat her the way she deserved to be treated. He’d never spoiled anyone before, but he was going to damn well try.

His phone rang and he touched the dash. “O’Donovan.”

“Bram, sorry to interrupt,” Killian said. “I wanted to let you know that Pam is gone. Her employment has been terminated immediately.” The man’s voice was as sharp as a blade.

“Thanks, Killian.”
