“I’m not leaving you.” She licked her dry lips. “Killian is on the way, and he said not to move.”

“I’m not going anywhere. I’ve no idea what we’re dealing with, and I want you out of the blast radius.”

Blast radius.God. She pressed a hand to her belly and backed up a little, but not all the way to the lobby.

“Just stay still,” she said. “Killian will get you out.”

God, was it really a bomb? If it went off—

A stabbing pain pinched her chest. She couldn’t lose him. She’d just gotten him back.

“Addie? Addie?”

She jerked her head up and looked at him across the space.

“Breathe. It’s going to be okay.”

“What if it’s not? I don’t want you hurt.” Or worse. Her throat was so tight. “I’m never lucky. Anytime things look up, life likes to prove that she’s the boss.” Her emotions whirled, out of control. “Saskia got me an audition, and I finally got to dance in a great show, then…poof, it’s gone.”

“You were wonderful in that show.”

She jerked. “You saw me?”

He nodded. “I went to see you.” He paused. “A few times.”

She tried to compute the idea of Bram—big, tough, rugged Bram—going to watch her dance.

“You never told me.”

He cleared his throat. “You’re a great dancer, Addie. Beautiful. If you want to dance again after the baby comes, you can, and should.”

Now she felt a burn in her chest.

“Whatever you want to do, I’ll support you,” he continued.

First, she needed him safe. Tears welled up, swamping her. Damn her hormones. “Bram.” He couldn’t miss the fear cracking her voice.

“It’s going to be all right, Addie. I promise you.”

There was the sound of a door opening and she tensed.

A second later, Killian and Devyn strode in, Hex and a handsome, dark-haired man in a suit were with them.

“Bram, talk to me.” Killian looked so cool, composed.

As the others circled the platform, Hex came to Addie and wrapped an arm around her.

“It’s going to be fine,” the hacker said.

“He’s standing on abomb, Hex.”

The other woman squeezed her. “He’s been in tighter spots.”

Addie glanced askance at the woman.

Hex pulled a face. “Sorry, that wasn’t helpful, was it?”

Killian lay down on his stomach on the floor, carefully removing the side of the platform. Devyn and the handsome man knelt beside him.
