Seduce him?Hot flames licked Addie’s belly at the thought. But she’d never seduced anyone in her life.

“Think about it.” Hex pointed at the computer screen. “Now, get to work.”

Soon, she was busy with the searches. There was no sign of the big stalker who was after her. Hex showed her a few things on the computer, and Addie felt a little thrill. She enjoyed computer work.

“Okay, let’s take a short break and I’ll show you how to get into a locked cellphone.” Hex held up a sleek phone. “Ready?”

“Ready.”

Following Hex’s instructions, it wasn’t long before Addie unlocked the phone. She grinned.

“You’re a natural.” Hex grinned back and pointed at the screen. “That’s the Sentinel Security emergency number. The team can call or message it anywhere in the world, and it comes straight to me.”

“Don’t you ever take a vacation?”

“Nope. I love my work too much.”

“You’re amazing at this.”

Hex executed a little bow. “I accept all manner of flattery and fawning adulation.”

Addie laughed and turned back to the computer to check her searches. Her mind kept drifting to Bram. Had he found anything? Was he okay?

“Hex, have you got a boyfriend?” she asked.

“Me? No way. Men are often more trouble than they’re worth. I’ll exclude all the guys I work with, but they’re all taken now, and unfortunately, I’ve never felt the urge to bang any of them.” She shook her head. “I’ve always been smart, and unlike some leggy dancers I know, small and cute.” She wrinkled her nose. “Men like legs, and curves, and boobs, none of which I have.”

“You’re gorgeous!”

Hex grinned. “Aw, you are so sweet.” Her smile faded. “There was a guy. After I graduated college. I thought we were headed somewhere serious…until he dumped me for a wannabe model. He said he just didn’t ‘want me that way.’”

“He sounds horrible.” Addie sensed a deeper hurt under Hex’s words.

The other woman shrugged. “I’ve never been in love. Guys usually let me down.” She smiled. “I can be an acquired taste. One day, I hope I find some guy who rocks my world, but I’m not settling for less.” Her tone was vehement. “Ever. Changing things about yourself to suit another person…? No way.”

Bram almost seemed to worship everything Addie did. He never, ever wanted her to change, and he didn’t put her down. Now that she’d learned that he’d snuck into her dance shows, multiple times, to watch her, she felt a little giddy. Little, warm pops filled her belly. She pressed a palm there and frowned. She could almost feel the pops. Was it the baby?

The thud of footsteps caught her ear, and Bram appeared. He had a scowl in place.

God, she loved that grumpy look. It made her want to kiss him.

“No luck?” Hex asked.

Bram shook his head. “We showed Limonov the pics, but he couldn’t identify the man. He thought maybe he’d seen him. That he was muscle for somebody.” Bram set a bag down on the desk in front of Addie.

“What’s this?”

“I got you something.”

She opened it and gasped in delight. “Cookie dough ice cream, and salt-and-vinegar chips.” She hurriedly opened the ice cream, then tore open the chips and tipped them in. She grabbed a spoon and took a mouthful. Sweet and salty and crunchy.Yum.

Hex watched in horror. “So gross.”

Addie just moaned. She took another mouthful and smiled at Bram. He smiled back.

That smile softened the rugged lines of his face.

She swallowed. “Um, I have a doctor’s appointment this afternoon. The ultrasound. Are you coming?”
