“We will, sunshine.” Bram cupped her jaw.

“Come back to me, Bram. To us.”

He pressed a quick, hard kiss to her lips and pulled away. Devyn jerked her head. “Let’s go, big guy.”

They took his truck.Bram focused on driving and not the raging need to rip Kozlov’s head off.

“You okay?” Devyn asked.

“No.”

“You can’t kill the guy.” She paused. “Or at least you shouldn’t. If you want to, I’ll help you dispose of the body.”

He glanced at her. He couldn’t tell if she was serious or not. “I just want Kozlov stopped.”

Devyn nodded. “So, let’s stop him.” She smiled. “Been too long since I was in a good fight.”

He grunted. “You were in several last week.”

“Like I said, too long.”

When Bram parked the truck in front of the storage unit in Queens, he checked his Glock and tucked it into the holster under his jacket, then he and Devyn walked down the street. It was in an industrial area close to the rail lines.

The building looked like it had once been an old factory. They walked in like they belonged in the place.

“We’re closing soon,” a bored woman sitting at the reception desk said.

“We won’t be long,” Devyn said.

Devyn plugged in the code Hex had given them and they walked into the storage area. Ahead was a long row with roller doors on either side.

“No sign of Ilya Kozlov on CCTV,” Hex said in their earpieces.

“We might find some evidence in his storage locker.” Devyn’s boot squeaked on the concrete floor.

Bram stared at the rows and rows of orange roller doors on the storage units.

“Take the next left,” Hex said. “Unit 111. Three doors down.”

They stopped at the right door, and he looked at the gleaming padlock.

“Bram, block the view of the camera,” Devyn said quietly.

He swiveled, and watched as she pulled out a lock pick like he’d never seen before. A moment later, the padlock opened, and Devyn grinned.

“I have a magic touch with locks.” She straightened. “We know this guy is handy with a bomb, so let’s go cautiously.”

Bram nodded and heaved the roller door open.

Devyn crouched and used the light on her phone to check the doorway. “Clear.”

Bram clicked on the light in the storage unit.

Then he froze. It was like the air was sucked out of his lungs.

“Fuck me,” Devyn murmured.
