Did he love her? Could he ever feel that for her? Sometimes when he looked at her, there was so much in his gaze.

“That’s an understatement.” Saskia sounded amused.

“Saskia, there’s something else. Don’t be mad.”

“Girl, you have to get better at sharing.”

“Okay. Um…I’m pregnant. Bram is the father.”

“What?” Saskia screeched. “You were alone, scared, and stressed, and you didn’t tell me you were pregnant? God, you got a job at a bar, Addie.”

“You’d just fallen in love, and were making a life with Cam in San Francisco. I wasn’t going to dump my problems on you. How is Cam by the way?”

“He’s fine.Veryfine, and do not change the subject. Pregnant. Are you all right? Healthy? Feeling okay?”

“I feel great, especially now.”

“I can’t believe you didn’t tell me.”

“We just had the ultrasound. Bram looked like he preferred to be heading to war. And we found out we’re having twins. A boy and a girl.”

Another squeal across the line. Addie smiled. It was nice to have people excited for her, unlike her mom.

“You have to rest and take good care of yourself,” Saskia said.

“I will.” Addie sat down, and saw Hex hunched over the computer, lost in her work. Addie knew that Hex was doing everything she could to search for Kozlov.

Addie’s stomach curdled. Bram, Killian, and the others were out talking to contacts, and searching the streets.

She wanted this to be over. She wanted to get on with her life.

“Congratulations, Addie,” Saskia said. “Bram will take care of you. All three of you. I’m so mad to hear that this asshole stalker and that woman in the Sentinel Security office kept you two apart.”

“It all worked out in the end.”

“And my brother dealt with Pam. And Bram, Killian, and the team will stop this Kozlov.”

Addie rubbed her belly. “He worked for Mikhailov.”

“I heard. I’m so sorry you ever got dragged into this.”

“It’s not your fault, Saskia. You were a victim, too.”

“I know, but a part of me is kind of glad I got Cam out of the whole ordeal.” There was a dreamy sound to her voice.

Saskia totally loved Camden Morgan, who worked for Norcross Security.

“How’s your ballet school coming along?” Addie asked.

“So great! I’ve found the perfect space. It’s going to be amazing.” Excitement filled her voice.

“You won’t miss the stage?”

“No. I was ready for a change. Cam and the school, they’ve become more important to me.” She paused. “You’re worried about your dancing?”

“Actually…no. I don’t think I want to go back to it.” It felt good to say the words out loud. “I just don’t want to be a failure.”

“Addie, goals change. That’s allowed.”
