Killian frowned. “Where was he?”

“I don’t know yet.” A determined glint filled Hex’s gaze. “But Iwillfind him.”

“He would’ve gone somewhere he felt comfortable.” Shade crossed his arms. “If he was setting up a home, he’d want friends or allies close by.”

Hex cocked her head and nodded. “Other Russians?”

“Could be,” Shade agreed.

Her hands flew across the keyboard. “We know he didn’t leave the country. I’m doing a search of the largest Russian communities in the USA. Then I’ll cross-reference and see if he traveled to any of these places. He had to have called someone, visited someone.”

Bram’s hands flexed. He felt like everything was taking too long.

Was Addie okay? Afraid? Hurt? Tired?

God, what if Kozlov hurt the babies?

Pain threatened to close Bram’s throat.

“Easy.” Devyn gripped his arm. “Don’t you dare lose hope, Bram. She needs you. She needs her tough, gruff man to bring her home.”

Bram managed a nod.

She smiled and squeezed his arm. “We’ve got this.” Her face sharpened. “And Kozlov is going to regret all of his life choices.” She gave Bram’s arm another squeeze and moved back to her laptop.

Killian was on the phone again. Bram glanced around the room. Shade was gone. He must have slipped out. “Where’s Shade?”

Hex lifted her head, brow creased. “What do I look like? His babysitter?”

Bram eyed her. “Do you need some caffeine?”

She blew out a breath, ruffling her dark hair. “Maybe.”

He snagged a soda from the stash of supplies they’d grabbed earlier. He cracked it and handed it over.

“What can I do to help?” he asked her.

Hex pointed at another laptop, taking a sip of the drink. “Go through those emails.”

Bram waded through an email account that Hex said belonged to Kozlov. It was full of fishing and hunting information. Specs on different gun and hunting knives.

He tried not to think of Addie, hurt and afraid.

“I think I found something.” Hex turned in her seat. “Kozlov emailed a friend in Alaska a few months back.”

“Alaska?” Bram said.

She nodded. “It has one of the largest Russian communities in all of the country.”

“It’s isolated,” Killian said. “He could easily keep to himself.”

And hide a kidnapped woman. Bram pointed at his computer screen. “Plus, it’s clear he likes hunting.”

The door to the room opened, and Shade appeared. “I found the car Kozlov was driving.”

Bram surged up. “Where?”

“An airport two hours away. Calhoun. Car was abandoned there. A contact just called me. No one matching Kozlov’s description, with or without a woman, was listed on any of the commercial flights that left that airport today.”
