“I’ll check charter operators.” Hex’s fingers danced over her keyboard. “Wait. There’s one there called Krasny Air.”

“Russian,” Bram said.

“Yes. A flight left for Montana.” She bounced in her chair. “God, there’s another flight itinerary. After Montana, they’re heading to Anchorage, Alaska.”

Bram felt energy surge through him. “He’s taking her to Alaska.”

“I’ll get the jet ready,” Killian said. “Ric’s feeling better, and is good to fly. Hex, see if you can find any real estate linked to Kozlov in Alaska.” Killian frowned. “Do we have any contacts in Anchorage?”

She shook her head, then frowned, thoughtfully. “Wait. We do know someone who’s spent some time up there working and fishing.”

“Who?” Bram asked.

“Boone Hendrix.”

The name sounded familiar, but Bram couldn’t place him.

“Former Ghost Ops,” Killian said. “He used to be on Vander Norcross’ team.”

Hex nodded. “He lives in Vermont now.”

“Call him.” Killian looked at Bram. “Let’s bring Addie home.”

CHAPTERSIXTEEN

Addie jerked against Kozlov as he dragged her off the plane.

“Stop it,” he snapped.

She bared her teeth at him. She was tired, scared, gritty-eyed, and hungry. The plane journey to Alaska felt like it had taken forever. The plane had been smaller and far less luxurious than the Sentinel Security jet. They’d stopped to refuel somewhere, and he’d given her some food, but she’d only picked at it.

Cool air hit her, and she shivered. It was summer, but still much cooler here than in New York. Her leggings and shirt weren’t quite enough protection. She turned her head and saw the line of majestic mountains in the distance. If only she was here for different reasons and could enjoy the view.

Kozlov tugged her along. She saw a big, silver truck with rugged tires waiting for them, a man standing beside it. He was of medium height, with a shaved head. He eyed her and she shivered. He had dead eyes.

He and Kozlov spoke in rapid-fire Russian.

“Everything is ready for us, Adaline,” Kozlov said with a smile.

“You won’t get away with this,” she said. “Bram will come for me.”

Kozlov glared at her. “Not if he can’t find you. I’ve planned this for months. Covered my tracks. O’Donovan will never find you.”

A ball lodged in her throat.

Her captor’s smile was cold. “And soon, I’ll arrange a little accident for the man who touched what is mine.”

Her heart hit her ribs. “You’re a monster.”

“I’m not. I’m just a man who does what he must. I’ve always been good at getting the job done.” He opened the back of the truck and shoved her inside.

Addie sat in the backseat and watched Anchorage slide by through the windows. The two men talked in Russian, laughing occasionally.

She rubbed her belly. “It’ll be okay, babies,” she whispered. She had to believe that. Kozlov wasn’t smarter than the Sentinel Security team.

Bram would find her.

Soon, they were driving out of the town. The natural beauty was breathtaking. The mountains in the distance only had a tiny bit of snow on top of them, but were still striking, and all the trees were green. Pretty, purple wildflowers dotted the grass.
