The blast lifted her off the ground, and slammed her down. She cradled her belly.Oh, God.
She looked back over her shoulder, and behind her, the trees were alight. Her breath caught in her lungs.
Breathe, Addie. Air rushed into her lungs. She wasn’t hurt. Nothing was sprained. She had to keep moving.
Shakily, she pushed to her feet.
Shouts echoed through the trees, followed by a gunshot.
Kozlov and his goons were coming.
But Addie wasn’t giving up.

Bram watchedthe guard strolling around the cabin area. He clenched his hand into a fist. He wanted to take the asshole down.
He stared at the cabin, and wished he knew what was happening inside.
“Bram!” Hex’s frantic voice through his earpiece. “I just got a message from Addie.”
“What?”
“A message from an unknown number to our emergency number. She must’ve found a phone.”
Bram found himself warring between pride and worry. Kozlov wasn’t stupid. She was taking a big risk using his phone. If he caught her…
“She said the grounds are booby-trapped,” Hex said.
He heard Killian curse. It wasn’t really a surprise.
“All right, I—” The cabin door opening caught Bram’s attention.
His chest locked.No.
“Addie is on the move,” Killian murmured.
Bram saw her glance at the guard, then take off running for the trees.
Fuck. Bram whipped his rifle up. If she hit a booby-trap…
“We need to intercept her,” he barked.
“I’m moving the drone closer,” Hex said. “It won’t matter now if Kozlov knows we’re here.”
All of a sudden, Kozlov burst out of the cabin and roared Addie’s name. Blood covered one side of his face.
His guard came running, pointing toward the trees. Bram lifted his rifle and took a shot.
The guard went down, and Kozlov moved fast. He sprinted for the trees, running after Addie.
“Move.” Bram launched himself up and ran.
He heard the others right behind him. He slapped branches out of his way. He had to get to Addie.
Kozlov was a decent hunter. He’d easily be able to follow her trail.
“She’s heading north,” Hex said.
