“Come here, you big baby,” Devyn said. “Let me look at your scratch.”

“It’s a gash, Hellfire,” Shade insisted.

“Is everyone all right?” Hex’s voice came through their earpieces. The drone hovered overhead.

“We’re all fine, Hex,” Killian replied.

Bram pressed his forehead to Addie’s. She had dirt smeared on one cheek, but was still the most beautiful woman in the world.

“I love you, Addie.”

She sucked in a breath. “Bram.”

“I should’ve told you sooner, but I’m not very good with words. But I think being with you, you’ll help me.” He caressed her stomach. “I want our babies to know how much I love them. I never want them to doubt it.”

“You’ll be a great dad, Bram.”

“Because I have you at my side.”

She smiled. “I love you, too.”

“Sunshine.” He kissed her again.

“Ow, Devyn, you’re worse than the cut,” Shade complained.

Bram lifted his head and saw Devyn pressing a bandage over the man’s injury. Blood had soaked into the sleeve of his shirt.

“It’s just temporary,” Devyn said. “It needs to be disinfected and glued, but this will hold you for a bit.”

“Guys,” Hex said. “I’ve rented us hotel rooms in Anchorage. We can rest and get cleaned up before the flight home.”

Atlas barked.

“Yeah, sounds good to me too, buddy.” Boone rubbed the top of his dog’s head.

Bram carried Addie carefully back to the SUV.

“If it’s okay with you, I don’t want to plan any Alaskan vacations,” she murmured.

He kissed the top of her head. “I’ll take you wherever you want to go.”

She smiled. “Maybe a short babymoon before the twins arrive, because after that, we’re probably not going to have a lot of time for vacations.” She met his gaze. “I wouldn’t mind a trip to Ireland.”

He could see her there, soaking up the history, tapping a foot to live music at the pub. He thought of all the places he’d like to take her.

“And you should tell your father he’s going to be a grandfather,” she said.

Bram grunted. He’d think about it.

“Bram?”

He blew out a breath. “Fine.”

She smiled at him.

He got her settled in the back of the SUV. Atlas jumped in, tail wagging.

“Hello.” Addie smiled at the dog. “Who’s this?”
