“Natalia, do not earn yourself a punishment this early in the morning.”

My eyes flew open, and I jerked into a sitting position, frantically looking at Rhett, who was leaning over my bed. He arched a brow at me and stood back up to his full height. “Come on. Breakfast,” he ordered.

I bit back another groan and pushed the blankets back before slipping out of bed. I stumbled a little, my vision fading at the edges, disorienting me. His arms instantly came around me, molding me to his broad, muscular frame until my head wasn’t spinning.

“Can you manage to walk?” he asked after a moment, leaning back a little to look down at me.

A blush stole over my cheeks, and I quickly stepped back from him, nodding my head.

Last night, something had switched between us. After finding out he wasn’t as big of a monster as I led myself to believe, and on top of that, having him take care of me last night, my defenses against him were weak. And I could no longer lie to myself.

I was falling for Rhett Kastle.

It was a terrifying realization.

Without a word, he turned for the door and pulled it open. When I didn’t follow, he looked over his shoulder at me, heaving a sigh. “Natalia, I’m not in the mood for your games this morning.”

I squeaked and quickly moved toward him. “Sorry, Sir. I didn’t realize we were already heading down to breakfast.” I tugged at the end of the oversized t-shirt that I was wearing. “I don’t have pants on.”

“You don’t need them.” He moved out into the hall, and this time, I quickly followed behind him, shutting the door to my room back behind me. “Everyone here knows to keep their heads down and their mouths shut. The only person looking at you will be me.”

I tripped at his words and latched onto the staircase banister so I wouldn’t go tumbling down the stairs. He arched a brow at me again. “Are you capable of walking?”

I jerkily nodded my head. “Sorry. I don’t know what’s wrong with me this morning.”

His lips twitched in amusement, but the smile never made it onto his face. Instead, he just grabbed my hand in a firm hold and slowly led me down the stairs. Tingles raced up and down my arm, sending electrical shocks to my heart, making it race in my chest. The blush never left my cheeks.

The smell of bacon and pancakes hit my nostrils as soon as Rhett pushed open the dining room door. I jerked my head up from staring at the floor, my stomach grumbling. Two plates of food were on the table before me with orange juice and coffee.

“Hungry?” Rhett asked me.

I quickly nodded my head, my stomach growling again. He hummed. “Good girl.”

My core clenched, and my nipples tingled at his praise. God, I craved him so badly, but this time, I welcomed it. This time, Iwantedhim to touch me.

Would he still want me when I was no longer resisting him? Did he get off on unwilling women and their betraying bodies?

“You’re thinking too hard about something,” Rhett rumbled as he took a seat in the chair at the head of the table. I moved to sit in the other chair, but he wrapped an arm around my hips and yanked me down onto his lap. Another blush stole over my cheeks, and a tingle swept up my spine at his possessive touch.

He stabbed a piece of pancake dripping with syrup and lifted it to my lips. I obediently opened my mouth, not even caring that he was feeding me like a dog.

In fact, it was kind of nice.

“What are you thinking about so hard?” he asked as I chewed the bite he fed me.

I snapped my eyes to his face. His blue eyes were intense—like he could see directly into my soul. A five o’clock shadow dusted his jaw since he hadn’t shaved yet today, though he was dressed in his normal attire of black slacks and a button-down shirt, this one black to match his slacks.

“I, um…” I didn’t know how to voice this. Would he be angry with me? Then again, it wasn’t like I had much of a choice. If I answered and he didn’t like what I said, I would be punished. If I refused to answer, he would punish me for that, too.

God, I hated feeling like I was teetering on a very narrow rod that was beginning to roll. Any second now, I was going to lose my balance and plummet down onto the asphalt.

“Do you still want me?” I blurted.

A low growl rumbled from his chest, making my pussy tingle. He silently set down the fork he was holding and then grabbed one of my hands, moving it to his crotch. His cock jumped beneath my palm, and my eyes widened, my heart rapidly beating. Without even realizing I was doing it, I gently squeezed, watching as his eyes darkened and he hardened even further beneath my touch.

“Does that answer your question?” he quietly asked me.

I quickly nodded my head, but I didn’t move my hand. He brushed a feather-light kiss to my jaw, and a whole body shiver worked its way through me. He hummed against my skin, skimming the tip of his nose along the column of my throat before leaning back to meet my eyes again.
