I scowled at my reflection in the mirror.Fuck her.

I slipped my feet into my heels, and just as I stood to my full height, my door burst open, two of my father’s guards marching into my room. My eyes widened in surprise. Theyalwayskept their distance from me. I didn’t even know their names. So why the hell were they in my room?

“Can I help you?” I snapped, a bit wary and extremely angry that they’d barged into my personal space—into my fucking bedroom—without even knocking or getting permission first. Like who the fuck did that anymore? I wasn’t a goddamn child. I needed my privacy. What if I’d been naked?

The larger one whipped a needle out, grabbed me by my throat, and before I could even register what was happening, he injected me with whatever was in the syringe. “What—”

I slapped at his arms, already feeling weak and lethargic. Black spots danced at the edges of my vision. My tongue was heavy in my mouth. A low moan rose in my throat as my eyes rolled back in my head.

“Just go to sleep,” one of the men rumbled.

I slumped, my knees hitting the floor, vibrations scattering up my body from how hard I hit.

Rhett

I silently closed my car door, only a snick entering the air as I shut it. I scanned the area around me, even though my security team was already patrolling the area and had assured me it was secure before I got there. I still didn’t take chances. There was always the possibility something or someone got missed.

“To your left, Sir,” my head of security, Gin, spoke into my ear. I looked over to my left. A black SUV was pulling onto the asphalt lot, all their lights off. I ground my teeth, narrowing my eyes at it as it approached.

“Occupants?” I quietly asked.

“Two men. Looks like a woman slumped in the backseat. I believe this is the package, Sir.”

Slumped in the fucking backseat?

Had I heard that shit correctly?

I muttered an affirmative, watching as the vehicle slowed to a stop. The engine turned off, and then the two men got out. Two of my own security personnel walked up and began patting them down for weapons and checking their IDs before ordering them to grab the package, their guns trained on them to better protect me.

A snarl twisted my features when they reached into the backseat and pulled Natalia up. Her makeup was ruined, her lipstick smeared across her cheek, her mascara running down her face. Her face was pale—too pale. Goddamn, was she even alive still?

I’d fuckingkillFrederick if he killed her.

“Thefuckdid you do to her?” I snarled, marching forward to take her from their arms. Gin stepped out of the shadows and opened the passenger door of my car so I could place her on the seat. She wasn’t making a single sound, and she was dead fucking weight in my arms.

“We drugged her—per orders.”

Drugged her?

What the absolute fuck?

“Whose fucking orders?” I demanded, calmly turning around to face them. One of them took a step back from me. Good—he knew I was something to be fucking feared.

“Mr. Leonard,” the one that had backed up answered.

I pointed in the direction they came from. “Get. The fuck. Out. Of my sight,” I snarled.

They quickly scrambled into the car, backing out of the parking lot before peeling off onto the road. I quickly shut her door before rounding the hood to slip into the driver’s seat. I quickly started the engine and took off for my club, calling Dr. Reynolds, who worked there full time. Even if he didn’t do anything that day but read a book or play on his phone, I paid him well. I needed a doctor on the premises just in case a scene went wrong with one of the couples who were playing.

“Hello, Sir,” he calmly answered, his voice echoing in my too-silent car. Natalia’s breaths were becoming more and more shallow, and it was freaking me out.

I didnotsave her from her sick, twisted father and the other men he owed just for her to fucking die like this.

“I have a girl with me. I’m bringing her to the club. I need a room prepared for her immediately. She’s been drugged. Her breathing is slowing,” I glanced over at her, “and she’s beginning to drool,” I noted.

“Christ,” Dr. Reynolds swore. That wasn’t the response I was looking for, and it worried me even more. “Get her here as fast as you can. I’ll do what I can, but I’m warning you now, Rhett, she may need a hospital.”
