"Can you zip me up?" I ask over my shoulder.

Reagan is sitting on the bed, already dressed. I can't believe I'm lucky enough to have a best friend like her; she's the kindest person I know. Even after everything the bride, Piper, has done...Reagan still came through for her.

She's amazing.

The sister I never had.

"You have a weird look in your eye," Reagan says with a smirk after she zips up my dress. "Oh my gosh--you're thinking about a guy, aren't you?"

"What?" I ask. "No."

"You are!" she says, shoving my shoulder playfully.

I roll my eyes and shake my head. "No, I'm not. I'm just admiring your incredible taste in bridesmaid dresses."

Reagan snorts. "Sure you are." She stands up from the bed and puts on her heels. "Look, I know you're not into relationships or any of that. But if you ever change your mind, I know a few guys I could set you up with."

I smile at her. "Thanks, but no thanks. I'm good on my own for now."

Reagan nods and grabs her clutch. "Alright, suit yourself. Let's go make this wedding perfect."

As we step out of the room and make our way to the ceremony, I can't help but feel a twinge of envy towards Reagan. She's so in love with Caleb and they have such a beautiful family together. It's the kind of love that I don't think I'll ever experience.

"You know, I met Caleb at a wedding," she says under her breath. "Who knows...your guy could be out here right now, right under our noses."

"I'm at weddings all the time, Reagan," I laugh. "And of course I know you met Caleb at one. I was there, remember?"

As we make our way to the ceremony, I scan the crowd for any potential love interests, but my heart isn't in it. Who am I kidding? I'm not looking for someone. I'm not even sure if I'm capable of falling in love.

The ceremony is beautiful, and I can't help but feel a pang of sadness as I watch Piper and her new husband, Jesse, exchange vows. They're so in love--it's written all over their faces. I wish I could experience that.

I wonder, for just a moment, what it's like to become a Hart.

After the ceremony, we head to the reception, where the party is in full swing. The music is blasting, the drinks are flowing, and I find myself enjoying the festivities more than I thought I would. I'm on my third glass of champagne when I feel someone tap me on the shoulder, and I turn to see a man standing behind me, his dark hair tousled and his grey eyes sparkling.

Familiar...but different. Even though the hair and dark beard are the same, he somehow looks even better in formalwear than he did in a t-shirt and jeans earlier.

"Hey there," he says, grinning at me. "Remember me?"

My heart pounds as I play it cool, twisting my face in mock confusion. "Hm...I can't say I think we've met."

He chuckles and shakes his head, his teeth catching his lip. Oh mylanta, this man iswayout of my league--but it really seems like he's coming onto me. And hey...maybe this wouldn't be so bad, right?

No.

It would be so bad.

Girls that date the Harts fallhard.

I can't let myself fall for him,I remind myself.

"I'm kidding, of course I remember you," I say, giving him a playful nudge. "You're Jake, right?"

"That's me," he confirms, his eyes still sparkling. "And you're Sarah."

I can't help but feel a little flattered that he remembered my name. "So, what brings you over here?" I ask, trying to sound nonchalant.

"I just had to come say hi to the most beautiful woman in the room," he says, his voice low and smooth.
