“I still don’t get why all three of you have to sit in the back, and I’m up here faring you around like a cabbie?”

“You picked the short straw to drive, remember?” Bridge murmured. “And we got to be near Kat.”

I couldn’t stop smiling, loving their affection.

The drive to New Orleans went faster than I anticipated. Once there, I was practically glued to the car window, leaning over the men. Canal Street was bursting with life and color. Music spilled out from some of the stores, but we left that all behind us, leaving me puzzled.

“Can you tell me now? What’s the surprise?” I asked, leaning against Logan, my head on his shoulder.

Mason shook his head, a teasing smile playing on his lips reflected in the mirror. “Patience, kitten,” he said, the corner of his mouth curling into a devious smile.

It wasn’t long before the SUV pulled into a driveway.

I turned to look out of the window, and my breath hitched. A grand plantation mansion stood before us, a majestic building making me feel small.

“Wow! Please tell me we’re staying here?” I asked.

Logan chuckled, a deep, rumbling sound that sent shivers down my spine. “You’ll see,” he said, giving me a wink that melted my insides.

Once inside the grand mansion, the elegance of the place was even more breathtaking. It didn’t resemble a hotel or Airbnb. There was a lounge area with a bar filled with elegantly dressed patrons. I suddenly felt out of place, but before I could voice my thoughts, we were moving past the reception. A warm smile from the lady behind the counter did little to calm my fluttering heart.

We piled into an old cage-style elevator. The guys’ silent exchanges were not helping my anticipation and excitement. As we strolled down the fourth floor’s plush-carpeted corridor, we stopped before door twenty-one.

I faced them for an answer.

In unison, they said, “Happy twenty-first birthday, our little kitten.”

I almost burst out crying.

Mason swung the door open, revealing a space that was everything I could have dreamed of.

“For your birthday, we wanted to give us to you,” he murmured, his voice soft and resonating.

I stepped inside, my mouth dropping open as I took in the grandeur of the suite. It was stunning, a mix of opulence and old Southern charm. The hardwood floors gleamed under the soft lighting, and the large windows were framed by thick, velvet curtains.

An overstuffed Chesterfield sofa with rich, deep burgundy fabric sat in front of the grand fireplace. Near the windows stood a classic claw-footed table with four matching chairs. Framed paintings of serene bayous covered the walls, and the intricate crown moldings and the chandelier with crystal prisms made me feel like I’d stepped back in time.

I rushed through the place until I happened upon the biggest bedroom I’d ever seen. Against the far wall, a four-poster bed took up most of the space, covered with luscious red linens, reminding me of boudoirs. The nightstands on either side had porcelain table lamps that provided a soft, warm glow, giving the place a romantic vibe.

My chest tightened. “I love it,” I breathed, turning to the three men who followed me with a smile. “I couldn’t have asked for anything more. Spending my birthday with you guys... that’s all I ever wanted.”

Bridge approached me, his pale grey eyes serious.

“Our gift to you is we give you the right to ask anything from us. Anything you want us to do for you, to you, we will oblige,” he murmured, a twinkle in his gaze. “We’re aware we still have a lot to learn about each other, but what we feel for you... it’s intense and real.”

Mason moved closer, his hands coming to rest on my waist in front of me.

“We want this to work, Kat,” he murmured, his blue eyes piercing into mine. “If you’re ready to have all three of us as your boyfriends, we’re happy to share.”

Logan was suddenly at my side, too, that brilliant grin of his lighting up the room even more.

“I told you I’d find a way to make you mine.”

I couldn’t help but gush. My heart was doing somersaults in my chest, my throat thickening that this was actually happening to someone like me. Someone who was always ignored, always pushed away, always made to feel less than important.

Mason handed me a wrapped gift, which left me making anooohsound. My hands shook slightly as I ripped open the wrapping to reveal a new leather-bound red notebook.

“A place for you to jot down all your desires,” Mason murmured. “And we’ll make them all come true.”
