“I’ll need a vehicle, a rifle and for everyone to get the hell out of my way.”

Chapter 15

The Grand Opening of the Lucky Lady Lodge had almost been a repeat of events from the year before. Even though the explosion had been averted, the crowd dispersed quickly, not taking any chances there might be more explosives set somewhere else in the lodge.

Joseph Kuntz, aka Kujo, one of Hank’s most trusted Brotherhood Protectors, brought his retired Military Working Dog, Six, into the lodge and had his expert sniffing nose go room to room throughout the huge building. Other than the one location where Brian had found the C-4 and detonator, the lodge was clear.

Most of the people who’d reserved rooms for the night canceled their reservations and drove back to Bozeman.

Molly and Parker refunded their money, fully understanding their hesitation to stay in a place with a recent encounter with explosives.

Although disappointed they’d lost that money, Molly and Parker couldn’t blame anyone for not wanting to stay.

“But we have to bring those bastards in,” Molly said, her brow deeply furrowed. “Until they’re caught, the Lucky Lady Lodge remains at risk.”

“The lodge itself is not the target,” Drake pointed out. “Our team and the Brotherhood Protectors are. We need to move out and take the targets on our backs out of the equation.”

“They already know you’re connected to the lodge,” Parker said. “They could use it as a bargaining chip or hit it because they know it will piss you off.”

“Bottom line is that we’ve got to find these bastards and take them out or lock them up,” Judge said.

“I vote for taking them out,” UTAH said.

“Agreed.” Murdock shook his head. “Why waste money supporting their sorry asses in prison for the court system to release them after only a few years?”

Hank had sent Sadie, Emma and McClain home to the ranch immediately following the bomb scare. “Swede’s been combing through databases and social media sites. So far, he’s found nothing.”

“We need someone who’s been to the camp to tell us where it is,” Drake glanced at Brian.

The boy frowned. “I didn’t go with them this time when they moved. I couldn’t begin to guess where they landed.”

Chuck clamped a hand on Brian’s shoulder. “You can’t magic up a location if you’ve never been there before.”

Judge paced several steps away, performed a perfect about-face and marched back to the group of men that had gathered around. “So, is this how it’s going to be?” He waved a hand in the air, encompassing the lodge lobby. “Are we just going to sit around and wait for more attacks?”

“Do we have a choice?” Grimm asked.

“I could get a helicopter in the air,” Hank offered.

Judge shook his head. “There’s too much area to cover, and most likely, they’re concealed by trees and camouflage netting. How soon can we get a positive ID on Tiberius?”’ he asked.

“I lifted fingerprints,” Cassie, a sheriff’s deputy, said. “I also took photos of his face and will run it through facial recognition software.”

Hank nodded. “And I’ll have Swede run the prints and photo images through the databases he’s connected to.”

“I’ll get a copy of the prints and photo of his face to you,” Cassie promised. “In the meantime, be super vigilant and aware at all times. Your lives are at risk.”

“Yes, ma’am,” Judge responded with a grin, just short of popping a salute.

“The medical examiner will do his best to identify the body as well,” Hank said.

“Knowing his real name has got to give us some clues as to who Augustus is,” Judge said.

“In the meantime, we’re flying blind,” Drake said. “We don’t know when they’ll send someone else out to do what Tiberius failed to do.”

“Since our guests all backed out of staying at the lodge, we should lock up at night,” Parker suggested.

“I’ll be glad when the security system is up and running,” Molly said. “The cameras are up, but the software isn’t connected. I’ll call the security company and ask them to put a rush on it.”
