I laughed. “Pretty nice, huh? I guess it's a good thing that the rest of the house is even better.” If she didn’t like it, I’d sell the place and buy her dream home.

“We’ll see,” she teased, making me chuckle again.

I tugged on her hand to get her moving, then let go to place my palm on the small of her back as I guided her into the house. We entered into a mudroom that had oak built-ins on both walls, each divided by a bench in the middle that lifted to reveal a storage space. One side had hooks for hanging coats and stuff, and the other had shelves for shoes and anything else that needed stored in there.

The room emptied out into the kitchen, and when Talia stepped into the space, she stopped in her tracks and gasped. “Holy cow. This…this kitchen is...”

I frowned as I glanced around the large room with cream cabinets, quartz countertops, state-of-the-art appliances in a matching cream, antique bronze finishes, and a white hardwood floor. “You don’t like it?”

“Are you kidding?” she breathed as she turned in a full circle. “It’s the most beautiful kitchen I’ve ever seen.”

My shoulders relaxed. “I’m glad.”

“It’s perfect for a big family, isn’t it? I can just imagine baking cookies with…um…” She trailed off and peeked up at me through her lashes, blushing a rosy pink.

I wanted to kiss her, but I knew that if I did, I wouldn’t be able to stop. I was going to give her exactly what she wanted someday. She didn’t know it, but this kitchen was already hers. We just needed to get a ring on her finger and to work on that baby we both wanted. I had no idea how much until I saw her in our home.

“You’re right,” I agreed softly, staring into her blue pools. “It’s perfect.”

We stood there for what felt like an hour but was probably only a minute. Then she cleared her throat and swallowed hard before turning away.

“Do you want a tour of the rest of the house?”

She perked up and beamed at me over her shoulder. “Absolutely.”

I showed her the main floor with an eat-in nook, a formal dining room, a large great room with cathedral ceilings, a media room, a half bath, and two bedrooms with en suite baths.

Then we went out to the patio where I had a perfect setup for barbecues and pool parties. The heated pool had a wrought-iron fence around it, the bars close enough that no one could fit through but large enough that it didn’t feel closed off from the rest of the yard. There was a comfy seating area and fireplace, as well as an outdoor kitchen with a large grill.

The basement was where I’d set up my home gym and a recreation area with a bar, pool table, ping pong table, etc.

After that, we went up to the second floor where the master suite was located, taking up most of one side, and the four other bedrooms, two with their own baths, and two that were joined by a Jack and Jill.

I couldn’t help pointing out that the bedroom closest to the master would make a perfect nursery, which had made Talia a little dreamy-eyed.

Soon, baby.

I saved the third floor until last, so we didn’t end the tour in the primary bedroom. If we did, I would’ve tossed her on the bed and fucked her until she screamed my name.

“There’s only one room on the third floor,” I told her as we ascended the stairs. “It's one of my favorites in the house. If there had been more than a half bath, I’d have been tempted to make it the primary. However, I think it’ll be even more perfect for something else.”

At the top of the stairs was an arched opening rather than a door leading into a room that spanned most of the house’s footprint. The ceiling was high in the center, then angled down the side, and had dormer windows along both walls. I pointed at four alcoves and said, “Those are the perfect fit for a set of bunk beds.”

Talia looked up at me in surprise, and I shrugged. “The previous owner had a set in two of them. And over there”—I pointed at a set of double doors—“is a closet with shelves that holds a lot of toys. There’s also a projector built into one of the walls and a large screen that comes down across from it.”

She raised an eyebrow, and I laughed. “If you haven’t figured it out yet, this space was constructed as a playroom. And a place for kids to have parties and sleepovers.”

Talia’s expression turned soft and her lips parted as her eyes scanned the room with a new perspective. “This would be a child's dream room.”

I nodded, and my mouth hooked up on one side. “A parent’s dream room too, when mom and dad need some alone time.”

She tossed her head back, and her musical laughter caused another tightening in my chest. The sound was so open and joyous that I vowed to hear it every day for the rest of my life.

“It’s amazing,” Talia said sweetly. “The whole house is incredible.”

“I’m glad you think so.”

She gazed at the space for another minute, then pivoted to face me and smiled. “You said something about dessert?”
