“Yeah, be careful,” Maverick said. “He’s throwing elbows like crazy.”

Lay popped up from a chair, staring at me, eyes narrowed.
“What?” I asked him.
“I’m… sensing…”
“Go sense your ass,” I said.
“What does that even mean?” Maverick asked.
Lay held up a finger.
He waved it around.
“What the fuck are you doing?” I growled.
Lay stepped closer to me.
He put his head back a little.
Shutting his eyes, he took a deep breath.
Then he smiled.
My heart sank.
Oh… shit…
His eyes opened. “How could you be in such a bad mood? You just had sex.”
“What?” I asked.
“You can’t lie to me,” Lay said. He looked me in the eyes. “I know.”
My jaw tightened. “You don’t know shit.”
