Remi and I could no longer go after each other.

“We settle this shit,” Abel said. “I’m not dealing with it anymore. I’m not getting into the middle of it anymore. I’m done.”

Remi and I looked at each other.

Ifelt right at home in the studio with Demi.

The back was one giant room.

Demi painted on everything in sight.

And she told me when things felt too loud in her life, she would hire someone to paint the walls white and start over.

All covered up.

With the back door wide open, I heard the faint sound of the ocean waves.

The yelling of the seagulls.

I sat on a stool with my hair messy and pulled back.
