Remi nodded and looked at me.

“Don’t do it,” I said. “You have no idea…”

“Sent,” he said.

Riff jumped up and grabbed his phone.

“Shit,” he said. “I have to make a phone call. My agent. I forgot.”

Riff stormed off just in time I guess.

I wasn’t sure it mattered if his phone vibrated or not.

After all, Riff and I had been texting for a little while now.

But he wanted to be extra safe.

“Feel good about yourself?” I asked my brother.

He shrugged his shoulders. “It was fun for a second. You’re really into that stuff though? Those kinds of texts?”

“My body, my life, my choice, Remi,” I said. “I’m not in any kind of trouble, okay? I’m just having fun.”

“Sneaking around down here,” he said.

“Maybe I’m just taking a break.”

Remi shook his head. “Whatever, Fiona.”

“Yeah. Whatever.” I stood up. I showed my hands. “Do I have your permission to go pee, Remi? Or should you follow me and guard the door?”

He curled his lip and looked at the hockey game.

I walked toward the bathrooms.

As I reached for the women’s door, the men’s room door opened and Riff appeared.

“What the hell was that?” Riff asked.

I walked toward him and grabbed his shirt.

I pulled him toward me.

Just like I said I would do.

Our faces didn’t smash together this time.

This time… we kissed.

A real kiss too.

None of that lip-pecking-goodbye stuff.

Our tongues touched and played for a second.

Then I pulled away and smiled.

“Well, Riff, that was fun.”
