I wrapped my arms around the seat and felt like I was being sucked up into a tornado.

Bags flew around me. Equipment sailed through the air.

My ribs were beat up by helmets and hockey sticks.

From the corner of my eye I saw Remi.

Curled up.

I reached with my right hand, calling his name.

Then came the loudest thudding sound I ever heard.

The bus was now on its side.

Sparks danced outside as metal scrapped the ground with intense force.

I began to lose my grip on the seat.

“Fuck!” I cried out as I shut my eyes and let go.

I slammed against something.

Hard.

More screams.

More slams and thuds…

Then an odd silence that lasted only a few seconds.

That’s when the yells for help and screams of pain started.

That’s when the bus itself began to make hissing and dripping sounds.

I had no idea why I did it but I had the urge to kick my right foot back.

When I did, something on the bus broke and I had a small opening to get out.

My instinct to survive took full control and I wiggled my way out of the wreckage of the bus.

I dropped back and down, falling against glass-like gravel.

I saw the giant bus on its side.

The front of the bus smashed up.

The middle of the bus a little twisted.

One thought hit me and hit me hard.

Remi.

My best friend was in that bus.

Liquid pooled on the ground, seeping toward me.

I had no idea what the liquid was.
