Kind of boring.

I used the bathroom. I got dressed.

I had a cup of coffee.

Riff threw together some scrambled eggs and bacon.

We ate. We talked.

Then he disappeared into the bedroom only to emerge a few minutes later with a gym bang hanging off his right shoulder.

He had to go to the gym. And then to practice.

So I wouldn’t see him until much later.

We said goodbye.

No kissing allowed.

And then I was really alone.

I had to admit that boredom got the best of me in about thirty minutes.

Everything Riff worried about started to come true.

There was no way in hell I would be able to just sit around his condo and do nothing.

Which meant I had to venture outside.

Risky. Dangerous.

It made me laugh to think about.

As though I were some kind of criminal on the run.

I ended up brushing my teeth and leaving.

Life wasn’t about sitting around, worrying.

Life was about adventure.

Taking risk.

About stumbling upon the next part of life.

I watchedthe older woman struggle to get the lid off her drink.

It was some kind of neon red looking smoothie with a light purple hue mixed into it.

Her hands were curled up and shaking.

She stared at the lid with the concentration of a surgeon.

I debated offering to help her.

Then the lid popped off.

She stuck a straw into the cup, leaned forward and took a sip.
