Riff. Me.

Fuck.

Riff picked me up and turned away from where we should have been worried about going.

He began to trot down the hallway toward the doors.

“You better fucking laugh right now, Fi,” he growled. “Sell this to these people. Or else we’re screwed.”

“This is your fault,” I said.

Then I threw my head back and started to laugh.

Obviously fake and very obnoxious.

“What’s the plan now, Riff?” I asked.

He didn’t respond.

He just growled in my ear.

I kind of liked when he did that…

Of all things to do,Riff opened a random door and then we were in some kind of storage closet.

Shelves on two walls.

Stacked with cleaning chemicals and paper products.

Brooms and mops stacked in one corner.

A general smell of dust and stale water hanging in the air.

It felt like the kind of place where people in a horror movie would hide as a last resort.

“This is what you chose?” I asked.

“What else was I going to do, Fi? People were watching us. I didn’t want to run back to my condo and have attention there. I don’t know. Okay?”

“I don’t know either. You’ve got a stick up your ass. Are you going to tell me what’s going on?”

“Nothing is going on,” Riff growled.

I reached up and grabbed his face. “No? Fine.” I jumped up to my toes. “Kiss me. Then fuck me. Fuck me as hard as you can right here. Right now.”

“Fi…”

“See? Something is going on.”

“I cancelled a date,” Riff blurted out.

“What?”

“Yeah. I cancelled a date.”

“Am I supposed to be impressed or something?”

Riff took a deep breath. “I don’t know, Fi. I had a date and then I started thinking thoughts…”
