Henry casually stepped up next to me.

“How do you know what she looks like?” I asked Rome.

“Saw her a few times,” Rome said.

He smirked.

Saw her how?

Is Rome talking to Anna behind my back?

Or is Anna talking to Rome… behind my back…?

“You know how it goes,” Rome said. “I pretend to be sad. Shecuresme. With her body.”

I stepped forward and Henry put an arm around my shoulders.

“There’s not enough doctors or medication in the world to fix him,” Henry whispered to me.

“Hey, can I get her number?” Jago asked. “I might need a little personal session next.”

“It’s not a fucking joke to me,” I growled.

Sebastian and Atlas both stopped working out and looked at me.

I was getting too heated. Too quickly.

“I just want to lift some weights,” I said. “Okay? This entire process sucks. I have to sit there and watch you guys on the ice. I can’t do a thing.”

Rome sat down next to Jago.

They both crossed their legs and touched their chins at the same time.

“Tell us how you feel,” Jago said.

“Yes,” Rome said. “What else do you feel, Joe?”

They both started to laugh.

They were assholes.

But they were just messing with me.

If I hadn’t seen half of Anna’s naked body or kissed her last night, I would have simply flipped the bench over that Rome and Jago were sitting on and that would have been that.

Things now felt way too personal.

I walked away.

“Joe, don’t leave,” Sebastian said. He hurried toward me. “Come on, brother. Stick around. Team bonding. You’ve been watching the games? Got any advice?”

I looked back at Atlas.

He yawned.

“Kid keeping you up all night?” I called out to him.

“Yeah,” Atlas said. “The hotel thing isn’t what I thought it would be.”
