Why don’t you tell me about that? Refresh my memory…

Sitting at the gas station where Anna and I used to meet.

The biggest moment of our lives about to happen.

I packed the truck with drinks and snacks.

I was going to take her for a long ride through town.

One of the memory rides.

Passing by each place where something good happened to us.

Where we met.

Where we had our first kiss.

I even planned out the cliché ending to it all…

Stopping at a spot that had no memory. Yet.

Anna would then want to know what memory we had in that spot.

That’s when I would open the glovebox and take out the diamond ring.

And I’d ask her to marry me.

It was probably insane to do, but we had things worked out.

Sort of.

We were being pulled in different directions, and that was okay.

We were just being tested.

I was destined for pro hockey, which mean a hell of a lot of money.

With Anna by my side, I’d get there in no time.

Then it would be her time to shine.

She wanted to become a psychologist.

Or maybe she would go off to college while I chased the hockey dream.

We’d keep in touch though. Right?

The ring…

She’d be wearing the engagement ring.

That’s all that mattered for us.

For our love.

We had an argument last night.

About the future.
