“What you did was serious,” I said to him. “I’m not kidding about that. I could get into serious trouble. I will be marking this down.”
“I’ll be doing the same,” he said back. “I’m sure there are some fine print parts of your lease about some things you’ve done to this office. I always win, Anna. Remember that. I always win.”
Bethany jumped in front of me and grabbed my hands and began to dance with me.
Literally dance with me.
We twirled and she hummed and smiled and danced me and her over to the coffee.
Herbert let out a chuckle, stuffed his hands into his pockets and walked to the door.
He kicked it open and strutted away.
“I hate him,” I said.
Bethany nodded.
“He broke the law. That’s serious. How do I know he—”
“He’s a moron,” Bethany said. “We both know he didn’t do a thing in your office. He wanted to piss you off and it worked. Now let me do my part.”
“What’s your part?”
“A little alone time with Bethany. I’ll teach him whatfiggingis. Or better yet,felching.”
Bethany reached for a straw and smiled.
“What does that mean?” I whispered.
“Which one?” she replied with a devilish grin.
“Both,” I said. “Is that sexual?”
“Well the first involves a piece of ginger being shoved into a certain spot… you know… one of the planets…?”
“Jupiter?” I asked.
“That’s funny,” Bethany said.
She turned and walked away.
I shook my head. “Wait. People like ginger shoved up their butts?”
“Apparently it hurts so good,” she said.
“What’s with the straw then?”
Bethany paused and looked back. “That’s for the other thing.”
“Do you put the straw up their…?”
“You can,” she said. “This is for when he’s done. A little… drink…?”
