I’ve been trying to nail down which of the Serpents were responsible since it happened. Trying to kill them all would be suicide—their number is triple ours—so I have to do it smart. But I found out recently that their VP has been hiding out somewhere near here, and the trouble they’ve been causing here is the perfect excuse to insert myself into the situation. I just need to find out where. With the help of Ghost, our tech guy, I’m inching closer to tracking their VP down. And when I do, I’ll make him tell me which of those sick fucks killed my little brother.

The next few days pass the same way. I stick to Sadie like glue. I’m constantly scanning our surroundings, ready to react at a moment’s notice if any danger presents itself. It’s not something I’d ever thought I’d do for anyone other than Tommy and my MC brothers, but Sadie’s become more than just a passing interest.

The first couple of days, Sadie chafed at my overbearing insistence on watching over her. Despite the closeness of that first night, she doesn’t know me, and I can’t blame her for being uneasy about a big scary biker hovering around her like a bad smell. But it’s non-negotiable, and I think she’s coming around. This morning, after a bit of arguing, I even convinced her to let me drive her between the motel and her house on my bike—and I’ve spent all day waiting to feel her legs straddling me, her arms around my waist.

Finally, just after ten p.m., it’s time to go. I escort her to the Harley and give her my helmet. It’s comically big on her, but I fasten the strap tight enough that it’ll do the job if it needs to. It won’t need to, though—I plan to drive like a grandpa when she’s on my bike.

“You ever been on one of these, doll?” I ask. She blushes at the term of endearment, just like I knew she would. Making Sadie blush is practically my top reason for getting out of bed these days.

“Nope,” she says. “First time for everything?” Goddamn. Just hearing her say the phrasefirst timeis getting me hot. I’ve spent every second since I met her desperate forourfirst time together.

I swing a leg over the bike, then pat the seat behind me. “Climb on,” I say with a smirk, and fuck—the red in her cheeks intensifies. She mounts up awkwardly and rests her hands tentatively on my thighs, but I pull her closer so they rest on my abs. Now I can feel her tits pressed against my back, and I’m rethinking this whole thing—maybe I should just carry her back into the motel and fuck her for the rest of the night.

I rein it in, though, and start the engine. Sadie flinches when it roars to life, and for the first time ever, I’m pissed off at my bike. “Sorry it’s so loud,” I shout. Sadie shakes her head and says into my ear, “It’s fine. You’re doing me a favor.” I groan at the sensation of her hot breath on my ear.

We reach the address she gave me way too fast, and when I stop in front of the tiny house, Sadie hops off the bike, but I grab her wrist and pull her back to me. “Not so fast,” I say. “Come here for a second.” I hoist her onto my lap so she’s back on the bike but in front of me now, her legs slung over mine. I unbuckle the helmet and let her hair escape, and when she shakes it out, she jostles the bulge in my jeans. I see her clock it. “I can’t help it,” I say, dipping my head to bury my face in her neck. “You do that to me.” She grinds against me so slightly I might not have noticed if my nerves weren’t on ultra-high alert with her so close.

Snaking one hand behind her head to tangle it in her hair, I draw her face to mine and kiss her hard. I can’t help it. Ineedit. She gasps when our tongues meet, and I crush her to me. I can’t get enough of this woman, and the night she spent in my arms has made every momentnottouching her torture.

The front door opens with a creak, and a girl who looks to be in her late teens leans out. “Sadie?” the girl says, eyes wide. Sadie flings herself off my lap and smooths down her dress. “Go inside, Lizzie,” she says. “I’ll be right there.” Lizzie stares at Sadie, then at me for a long moment before slipping back into the house.

“My little sister,” Sadie explains. Who? I’ve already forgotten the other girl. My attention is all on Sadie.

“I should go in,” she says reluctantly, although she’s stepping towardme, not toward the house. She plants a soft kiss at the corner of my mouth, then jogs to the front porch and disappears inside, leaving me staring after her dreamily with a hard-on that could shatter concrete.

I’m in big fucking trouble.

CHAPTER6

Sadie

I nearly hitLizzie with the door when I open it. She’s been peering at me and Slash through the tiny window at the top of the door. “Jesus, Liz,” I say. “A little privacy next time?”

My sister just stares at me.

“What?” I say, although I know exactly what.

“Who wasthat?” she breathes, staring at me with enormous blue eyes.

“No one.”

“That did not look like no one,” she presses. “Are you dating him? Abiker?” I roll my eyes at the way she’s overemphasizing every other word.

“No, I’m notdating a biker,” I say, mimicking her tone. “He’s just a friend. Or something. He helped me out the other night during the robbery.” After a pause, I correct myself. “No, he didn’t help me out. He saved my life. And he’s been watching out for me since then.”

“Oh my god,” my sister says. “It’s like a movie. I can’t believe you have a boyfriend who looks like that.”

“He’s not my—“ I start to say, but I’m interrupted by the sound of my mother’s voice. “Sadie has a boyfriend?” she says from the kitchen.

“No!” I call back at the same time my sister starts running her mouth.

“Mom, he’s so hot. He’s, like, gigantic, and he drove her home on a motorcycle and he has all these tattoos and he was kissing her right outside!”

I jab her with my elbow, but it’s too late. My mom is coming into the front room, wiping her wet hands on her jeans and staring at me with concern.

“You rode a motorcycle?” she says.
