I pull myself off the couch and walk to the fridge for a drink before stepping outside to get back in the car. My phone pings with a message as I get in the car. Kathy has just sent me two pictures of her tits. Her nipples are pierced and pointy, and she has the most inviting pout on her lips.

A tiny smile tugs on my lips, but I'm not moved.

"Want more of that?" She adds with a winking emoji.

"Not today," I reply and put the phone away.

Captain Morgan is waiting at the shore when I get to the Hudson River. I hurry to meet him, and the crew takes me aboard.

The luxury vessel sails away from the shore, and I get the exact view I want, the setting sun reflecting on the blue surface of the water. I stare straight ahead, attempting to clear my head and put my body in a relaxed mode.

The past weeks has been stressful. I'll need to take a break in the coming days and reduce my stress.

My phone buzzes with another text. I grumble, wondering how it escaped my mind to turn off the sound before I began sailing.

"I hope it's not Kathy."

It's a text from Frank. We’ve got more intel about the bad guys. And Jeff wants a sit down.

We only had one major opponent at the moment, so I know who he was talking about.

I reply. We'll talk when I get back. And set it up. Tell him to bring Aurora.

I turn off my phone and focus on the view. My mind flies back to my younger year when my family was alive. My mother and I would go on a yacht and enjoy the wind against our faces. Now, it's all gone. My parents, my sister. All were killed because of a man's festering greed.

I'll never forget what the street cost me.

Never.

AURORA

Jeff requestedone week to resolve the issue. This is the third week, and nothing has been done. For the past week, I've been staying in my old bedroom to monitor the situation. I've decided to let him handle it since he knows hisfriendbetter.

The last time I saw Tristano, his eyes were all over me, and the effect was that I can’t get him off my mind. I've been oddly pondering the possibility of him liking me, but when I recall Tristano is my father's friend, I discard such naughty thoughts. I don't ever want to see him again.

I walk down the stairway, heading to the living room. Jeff sits on the dining with his eyes fixed on two slips. I hope that has nothing to do with betting.

“Hey Jeff, what's the latest news about the hotel?"

He looks at me with a cocky smile. "I've got some of the money. I'm planning to get more, but I give this to Tristano to buy us more time."

I sit opposite him and grab the TV remote. "Okay, so how do you intend to get the balance? What if he rejects the half-payment?"

"He won't refuse it. And about the balance, I'm already working on it."

I hear the loud honk of a car outside, and my brows knit. "Are you expecting someone?"

He shakes his head. "No."

I get up and walk to the window. Gently, I pull the curtain apart, peeking out. A black van and a pair of motorcycles roll onto the grass. I freeze when three big guys jump out of the van with batons and guns.

"Dad, come quick."

"What's up?" He tosses the slips in the drawer and joins me at the window.

Now, the men are stomping purposefully toward Jeff's Benz. My legs grew numb. A lump forms in my throat as I look at Jeff questioningly. But his eyes are fixed on the men destroying his windshield.
