It takes sheer willpower not to close the inch between us. Her full breasts rise and fall, the scent of her scent burns my nose, and the hum of desire vibrates through my chest.

Before I can make a move, Aurora steps back and points to the unsigned part of the agreement. I pause to read everything. I go through the terms line by line, and when I'm satisfied with what I read, I scribble my signature on the page.

"Here we go." I gather documents conferring ownership of the hotel on me. I can do with St. Regis Place as I liked right away.

Aurora dabs the corner of her eyes with a tissue and presses her lips together. "This isn't the end."

"I don't think so, but you're welcome to prove me wrong."

I turn away from her, aware of her eyes on my back. In the hallway, an elderly couple passes me on the way to their room, looking so fixed on each other that they barely notice another person around them. A wave of regret hits me.

Maybe my parents would have been like that too, old and crazy in love with each other. But I didn't get to see them beyond age ten. The streets took them from me, and I learned to depend on myself, notlove.

Clutching the documents tighter, I walk past the counter again. Sarah is handing a room key to a customer; she looks good. But good isn't enough for me. I need a hot woman to set my pulse racing, and Aurora fits the bill. She has the perfect body, but she's not in a good place now. And I won't sign off her father's debt because I want to have her. That's some beta male bullshit.

Most of the dark clouds have dispersed, leaving a clear sky with mild sunshine. I stroke my chin and stride toward my car. It's the newest addition to my garage, so I use it the most these days. I love the beauty and the exclusivity of the ride.

For the last time, I look at the front view of St. Regis Place. The whole place needs an urgent facelift. I'll be here to transition out the old team and finalize the updates to bring it up to par with my other businesses.

I'm about to drive away when I see Aurora at the window, staring at my car. I wink at her, but I'm sure she can’t see it. She looks pissed, and rightfully so. She just lost her shit because her father had to surrender a prized property. The Wallaces have some pretty lean days ahead of them. But Jeff is resourceful. He'll find a way out. Or not?

I pull out my phone and call Frank. Like, Jeff, I've known him for over a decade. But Frank is a great business partner. He never loses money. He'll rather die than throw money down the drain as Jeff does with gambling.

Frank answers at the first ring. "What's up, bro?"

"It's done. The hotel is ours now."

"Did Jeff try to talk you out of it?"

"Nah, the bastard didn’t even show. He left it for his daughter to do."

“That’s fucked up.” Frank chuckles. "His lose is our gain.”

“Damn right.”

“How should we celebrate this? I’m already at the club."

"All right. I'm on my way."

I disconnect the call racing through the city. Another day, another big win. It takes me half an hour to drive to CityRush, the club I own and operate with Frank. I get into the club, and Frank is at a table with three skimpily dressed women.

"Bring some champagne!" I shout to the waiter, and the girls at the table squeal.

Kathy, my favorite among the club girls, steps away from Frank and sits on my leg, rubbing her fat ass against my crotch. The waiter serves the drinks, and I lift the glass to my lips, savoring the taste of the drink and the feel of another successful acquisition. Kathy turns with her breasts almost at eye level. There's a smirk on her face. She knows her body never fails to turn me on.

But she's not doing it for me tonight. I don't know why I keep thinking back to Aurora. Jeff's daughter has got mad curves. And the idea of exploring her thick frame is more exciting than anything Kathy has to offer.

"Clear the room." My voice carries over the music.

"What’s wrong?" Kathy whispers close to my ear.

"That goes for you too." I sip the drink again and stare at her. She gets off my lap and walks away with a champagne-filled glass.

"What's up, man?"

"I’m not in the mood for these girls. Let's talk business."

Frank chuckles. "You know I'm always down for that."
