Either way, he needs to know what it is.

“Actually, it’s nothing urgent,” I say. “Do you think we can talk about this tonight?”

“Absolutely,Tesoro,” he says.

Oh, how I love it when he calls me darling. After tonight, I only pray I don’t live to yearn for those words to come from his mouth for eternity.

“Now,” says Felix, “we better head into the office. I anticipate it’s going to be a great day.”

He gives me his hand, and I take it with a smile. “All thanks to you,” he says, kissing my forehead.

On the way to the office, we turn on the radio in the car, waiting for any news on the Lucchese conglomerate. The news focuses more on local crimes, so we turn it off and drive in silence.

“Do you think the plan failed?” I ask.

“Well, I doubt it,” says Felix. “Either way, we dumped our stock last night at a profit and almost made back the whole 50 million.”

“Well, yes,” I say, “But I want them to hurt. I want them to know that it was us.”

“Someday, they might know.”

As we reach the parking lot, Felix presses the button on the remote, and the car beeps, unlocking the doors.

We climb out and reach the entrance, our hands clasped together.

As soon as we enter the elevator, Felix pins me against the wall and crashes his lips onto mine.

The kiss is frenzied, his tongue exploring every inch of my mouth.

I moan when his hand slides down to my hips, pulling me closer to him.

The fabric of our clothes is the only thing separating us, and I need him closer.

Felix’s fingers trace the hem of my blouse, and he lifts it slowly, exposing my lacy bra.

He breaks the kiss and looks at me with hooded eyes.

“You are so beautiful,” he murmurs before kissing my neck.

I tangle my fingers in his hair and pull him closer, wanting more.

“Easy there, tiger,” he says. “We’re about to reach the basement.”

The elevator doors slide open as he says it, and we abruptly step back. I can feel my cheeks burning, but luckily no one is here yet.

We make our way to the basement room, hand in hand. As we near the room, we disjoin our hands. I can hear people talking loudly.

As soon as we got there, I realized why everyone was so loud- over a dozen people glued to the TV, all of their eyes wide open in shock.

The news is on, and Lucchese stocks have hit an all-time low as investors backed out from further investments with them.

Angelo notices us arriving and turns to us - “Boss, Emily. It’s done.” He’s grinning ear to ear.

“We did them good, boss,” he says, walking towards us. People congratulated me from all sides.

“There are rumors of stock dumping, but the way we set it up, no one will know it was us coming.”

“And the fake papers?” I ask.
