It’s not even about the promise of sex — though I don’t think I’ve ever wanted anyone so badly before. It’s all the little things I know I’m going to miss. The lunches. His calming presence and uncanny ability to bring me down from a ledge with just a gentle touch or soft look in my direction. The quiet laugh he huffs out when he’s trying to bite back a smile. How he effortlessly cheers me on and champions everything I do. How secure he makes me feel.

JustFinnin general.

And yes, all right, the sex too. If he can do that with his fingers and tongue, I can’t wait to find out what he can do with the thick, long dick I felt rubbing against the fabric of his trousers.

At some point over the last three months, Finn has wormed his way into my life and become a staple. It feels strange to think that when this all started, I couldn’t stand him and had been so eager for this project to end. There’s not a lot I wouldn’t give to get another three months with him right now.

Funny how things work out.

Without me realising, Finn has slowly chipped away at the walls I’d carefully put up around me and carved himself a place front and centre in my heart.

It figures that I finally meet a man who makes me feel all the things Finn does and in four days we’ll be an ocean apart.

Bailey would think this is all hilarious. She’s in Jamaica right now on a PR trip with her brother’s best friend, Cash, and I know she’s going to lose her mind when I update her on everything that’s happened. Though, judging by the sporadic messages I’ve been getting from her and some of the photos she’s posted, she’sgot a few updates for me as well.

Finn makes an irritated sound and I look over at him just as he pulls the headphones away. I slide off the desk and drop down into his lap without a second thought. It feels right, and when his arms come up to pull me in even closer, my heart flutters again.

“Bad call?” I ask as he closes his laptop lid and pushes it to the side.

“Nothing to worry about,” he says. He rests his chin on my head and I hear him take in a deep inhale before he threads his fingers through my hair. “I feel like I haven’t see you in a while.”

“You haven’t,” I say as I lean into his touch. “We’ve both been so busy, but everything’s nearly finished on my end. How’re things going with the launch?”

“Good. All the suppliers have confirmed they’ll be here, and judging from the response to the invites we sent out, we should have a full house.”

“How’re you feeling about that?”

He shrugs. “Nervous, I think.”

“Will your uncle be there?”

Finn rolls his eyes. “No. Despite getting on my ass every step of the way, he hasn’t deemed this an important enough event to attend.”

“But he’s theCEOand this is a big deal. It’s the first location outside of New York. Don’t you think people would wonder where he is?”

“Probably,” Finn says. “But I really don’t care at this point. Besides, there’s only one person I really want there.” He runs a hand down my jaw, his thumb ghosting over my bottom lip. “You’ll be there, right?”

“Of course.” I smile up at him and mirror his movements, holding his face in my hands. “I wouldn’t miss it for the world. But I’ll probably have to leave a little early. Now that I’ve moved even further out of London, I have to pay attention to things like last trains.”

“I’ll get you a cab,” he says with a shrug. “Or a hotel room. Your choice. You’ve got to celebrate the right way after all your hard work.”

“We’re celebratingyourhard work,” I remind him. “And you don’t have to do that.”

“I know I don’t have to. I want to.”

“If anything, Cynthia should be the one footing the bill for my taxi home. But she’s so stingy about what goes on the company card these days.”

“There’s—” He clears his throat, and my favourite pink tinge dances over the tips of his ears. “There’s another alternative, you know?”

“And what’s that?”

“Stay with me.”

I freeze and wonder if he’s also having flashbacks to that afternoon, because I know what he’s really asking. Webothknow what he’s really asking.

The first time I fuck you, it’s going to be somewhere you can scream my name.

Somewhere like a hotel room?
