“Yes. I thought we should start slow.”

Kyda looked at him, went to her wardrobe, and got a robe and nightgown. He sat on the edge of her bed and smiled as she headed into the bathroom.

Her shower was fast, and she brushed her wet hair out. Dressed and nervous, she left the bathroom, and Ados got up and smiled. “First, we are going to start with greetings.”

He took her hands and eased her toward him, starting with, “This is how you greet a friend.”

She was flush against him, and she smiled. “A close friend?”

“Very.”

He started whispering words to her to get her to repeat them, and his lips pointed out the areas he spoke of. It was the start of a very educational few hours.

Laksi chatted politely while Kyda and her hulking boyfriend headed into the house.

“Well, that is an interesting combination. I think they are going to be very happy.” Laksi smiled.

“I admit that I was shocked when he brought her here, but after seeing her, I recognized her at a glance.”

“Yeah, the family resemblance is very impressive. I haven’t felt less striking in my life than I was meeting my siblings and mother.”

“Yes. You seven were the strongest embryos.”

“What about the other five?”

Nandy looked at her in surprise. “How do you know about the other five?”

Laksi smiled. “I have met three of them.”

The researcher was astonished. “What?”

“I have met three of them. They work together. Tremendously powerful, slightly unstable, and loyal to a fault. They do not look like our mother.

Nandy stared at her. “Wait. You... they are alive?”

“At least three of them. They found each other and are doing very well.”

Nandy was stunned. “You aren’t joking.”

“I am not. Could we continue this sitting down? I am recovering from an injury, and my body doesn’t heal quickly.”

Nandy scowled. “Oh, of course, dear. Do you need help?”

“No, just go slowly.”

They made their way to the home where Nandy said, “May I run some scans on you?”

She laughed. “Of course, Grandma.”

Nandy smiled. “So, you speak Sethir.”

“I have been recovering from an injury for nearly two years. Languages are a hobby.”

They walked down a stairway, and Nandy opened the door to a lab; the chemical tang marked it as a medical chamber.

“What kind of injury was it?”
