Titan chuckled. “It isn’t necessary. I am about to shop for things.”

Remark nodded. “You should talk to Drin. She’s had two baby showers and is an expert on what to put on the registry.”

“I don’t need a registry. I have just purchased land and need to renovate the home. It will hopefully be done before the baby decides she is done with her container.”

Remark grinned. “It’s a little girl? Congratulations, Titan.”

“Thank you. She is my one chance, so I am happy. Very happy.”

Lehhalla blinked. “What do you mean?”

“I mean, when I arrived in Aksalla, I was very badly damaged. My ovaries were crushed. They managed to retrieve a few eggs, but there weren’t many. One of them caught.” She was deliberately outing herself as female, and while some may have suspected, there was no confirmation. This was that moment. She trusted these men with her life, and now, she was going to prove it.

Torun nodded. “That was what Zera said, but I didn’t believe it.”

Titan opened her hatch and swung to the floor in front of her suit. “Believe it.”

Torun opened his mouth, closed it with a snap, and then he grinned. “Not a recruit then.”

“No. But I can kick your ass again if needed.” She cocked her head and grinned.

Remark looked at her, snorted, and said, “Titan. Glad to put a face to the name.”

“Glad to be where I can feel the air.”

Torun sighed. “Are you sure you don’t want to sign up?”

“I am sure. I am not a member of your city crew. I don’t need to spend my off days banging escorts.” She smiled and shrugged.

Torun smiled and made things very clear. “I was hoping you wouldbethe escort.”

“No. I like this job. I get to be upright and everything.”

She felt a push on her mind and blurted, “Plus, I have a boyfriend already.”

The heroes grinned.

She walked over to Remark and lifted him above her head, muttering, “Stop that.”

He laughed. “If Drin were here, she would laugh her ass off.”

Lehhalla was staring at her. “You are strong?”

The entire gathering stared at the dispatcher.

Torun frowned. “What do you think she was?”

“Well, I knew the armour was strong. I didn’t know you were.”

Ondine dropped Remark, and he rolled a few feet before rising. She said, “My life is about to change, so I felt it necessary to show myself, but the suit is just a suit. It doesn’t move unless I am doing it.” She glanced at it. “It is pretty much just a hunk of metal.”

Lehhalla said weakly, “So, it isn’t tech?”

“No. You have been around for six months. Don’t you know that?”

The dispatcher was flustered. “Oh. I... the... your files are sealed.”

Ondine nodded. “Right. They did that.”
