“We never had a proper talk,” I say, voicing the sudden worry in my mind. “How would Seth feel if he knew I was kissing you like this?”

A loud snort escapes him. “Is that too hard to guess?” he asks with a naughty grin. “He’ll be jealous, of course. It’ll be the same with Oli. He’ll wish he got up to pee too.”

It’s incredible how he can lighten my mood in the blink of an eye.

His hand reaches out to brush away a thick dark lock behind my ear. “Don’t worry about me and my brothers. We’ve wanted you since the moment we caught a whiff of your perfume. I wish we’d taken the initiative to approach you the first time we laid eyes on you. We wouldn’t have let you go if we knew you were our true mate.”

“Are you saying we’re fated to be together?” It’s an incredible thought because true mates are so rare, that most people think the concept is a myth.

“Oliver and I knew you were meant for us the moment we caught your scent.”

“I’m sure I used a de-scenter before attending the party. I never leave the house without spraying it all over me.”

“Of course, you used a de-scenter,” he says, flashing me a warm smile. “Even then, we sensed your perfume and followed it until we found you.”

A heavy sigh escapes me. “I’m so glad, though. Kelso would’ve hurt me if you didn’t reach me in time.”

A shadow falls over his features but he’s quick to hide it.

“Forget about him,” he says, capturing my lips once again.

His kiss sears my lips, making me forget about every hellish memory. At this moment, he’s all that matters to me.

Holding onto my shoulders, he gently lays me among the pillows. “Let me take care of you,” he says, meeting my hungry gaze.

“Yes, Alpha,” I whine.

A surprised smile curves his luscious lips. “That’s right, Princess,” he says, swiping a thumb over my bottom lip. “Your alpha will make you feel good. However...” His gaze turns grim. “Anytime you want me to stop, just ask. Do you understand?”

I nod.

An unnatural calm spreads over me. It’s freeing to surrender to the instincts that tell me he’s the mate I’ve been waiting for my whole life.

My gaze focuses on his hard, lean muscles. An urge to lick the planes of his pecs overwhelms me, so I raise my head and press my lips to his left breast.

A hiss escapes him as he closes his eyes.

“You should take off your clothes too, Princess,” he says in a deep, husky voice.

Battling against my shyness, I hurriedly take off my top.

My cheeks heat as his eyes rove over my bra-clad breasts.

“You’re beautiful,” he says.

“I’m ugly,” I mumble, looking down at the ribs that stick out of my emaciated body.

He brushes a thumb over my cheek, drawing my gaze back to him. “You’ll always be beautiful in my eyes, Rory.” His finger traces a line down the column of my throat, drawing out a breathy moan from my lips. “Your heart is what matters to me,” he says, resting his hand over my breasts. “I want to protect it at all costs.”

His words send warmth flaring through me.

Turning me to the side, he fiddles with the hooks of my bra. Next moment, the tight elastic loosens, allowing him to uncover my mounds.

A hungry look descends into his eyes as he meets my gaze. “Believe me, Rory. Youarebeautiful.”

My cheeks warm as he turns his attention to the trousers I’m wearing. He works on the button and proceeds to lower them down my legs.

“Relax,” he breathes as I’m fully bared to him.
