I look up at him and find him gently snoozing. A smile blossoms on my lips. He looks so damn beautiful and innocent at this moment.

“You look like an angel,” I say, kissing his lips gently.

He doesn’t stir, so I take the risk to tap his nose with a light finger. “But, you’re a teasing devil.” A chuckle escapes me as he continues to sleep.

Calm and safety steal through me. Feeling thoroughly warmed up, I finally close my eyes, no longer scared of any nightmares.

Aurora

A huge yawn escapes me as my eyes blink open. Feeling very warm and comfortable, I turn to my side, expecting Simon to be lying beside me.

A sad moan escapes me when I see he’s missing. Disappointment flares inside me but it doesn’t last long.

I become aware of the blanket that’s covering me from neck to foot. A familiar lemony scent wafts into my nostrils, comforting me immediately.

Sitting up, I stare at the blanket. It’s the same one I usually use at home!

My gaze falls on an old, worn stuffed elephant. A cheerful noise escapes me as I lunge for it and hug it to my chest.

“How come you’re here, Miss Ellie?” I ask the stuffed toy that’s stayed on my bedside throughout my childhood.

That’s when my gaze falls on a folded note on the side of the bed where Simon had been sleeping. Reaching for it eagerly, I open it.

Morning, Princess!

Oliver found me and dragged me out of bed. We’ve got to head out early for a meeting at the headquarters or I’d have never left your side. You were sleeping like a sweet angel, so I didn’t wake you up.

Xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox

Simon.

A snort escapes me at the number of ‘xo’s he’s put into the note. It reminds me of the silly letters we used to write in our childhood.

Folding the piece of paper, I slide it under the pillow and look around. Someone has left a pile of clothes at the foot of the bed along with another note.

Picking it up, I read the quick message.

These are some of the stuff I brought in last night. There’s plenty more in the living room, so you can go through them later. Use these for now and come meet me downstairs.

Seth.

A smile curves my lips. I can almost hear Seth saying the words.

Warmth washes over me as I glance at my old stuff and the new things that Seth brought me. He and his brothers are making me feel so welcome, this strange cottage is starting to feel like home.

Before touching the fresh clothes, I decide to head into the bathroom.

This is the only bedroom in the house that’s got an attached bathroom to it. A part of me feels they were saving this room for their mate. A tinge of warmth sparks inside me as I realize they’re letting me have it because they’ve finally found the woman they’d been waiting for.

The bathroom was bare last night but now, I catch glimpses of stacks of dark maroon towels. Bottles of soap and shampoo stand on a shelf near the shower area.

A smile blossoms on my lips. Seth and his brothers must’ve done all this while I was asleep.

I pick up a tube of facewash that’s standing by the sink. It’s the same brand I usually use at home. Opening the lid, I sniff at it.

The familiar fragrance of apples and cranberries wafts from the tube. Breathing deeply, I put it down and move toward the shower cubicle.
