“I’m so, so hungry,” Simon whines, massaging his stomach. “Can’t you fix us something else, Bruh?”

Oliver grins and nods encouragingly.

“Rory’s being shy,” Simon continues. “She’s got to be starving after being with me thewholenight.”

Closing the fridge’s door, Seth looks at me.

My cheeks flush as I chuckle nervously. “Yeah, Iamsort of hungry.”

“Let me see what I can do,” Seth huffs loudly as he reopens the fridge.

Oliver comes over to me and presses a kiss on my cheek. “Thanks for playing along, Princess,” he whispers. “Seth-bear acts tough but he’ll never let us down when we need him.”

I agree with him wholeheartedly. Seth was born to lead and protect the people around him.

Within minutes, I find him mixing a batter in a big bowl.

“Grab the syrup bottle and tubs of fresh fruit from the second shelf,” Seth says in a commanding tone.

Oliver and Simon give him a mock salute and start carrying out his quick, short orders. Within minutes, the table in the corner is set with plates and cutlery as well as an assortment of syrups and sauces.

Moving toward the counter, I glance at the stovetop.

To my surprise, I see a circular, flat pan with three pancakes cooking on it.

“How did you make pancakes without eggs?” I ask Seth as he switches on the coffee machine.

“They’re vegan,” he says, grinning. “Well, not really. We don’t drink any nut milk in this house.”

“Did you just say nut milk?” Simon asks, sniggering loudly.

“You should show some manners before a lady,” Oliver says with a sagely expression but his eyes are dancing with naughtiness.

Suppressing a laugh, I take a second look at the cooking pancakes. “They look so fat and fluffy, though. I bet they’ll be delicious!”

Seth chuckles as he flips them over. The tops are perfectly golden and look absolutely delicious.

“They won’t be as decadent as traditional pancakes but they’ll taste all right,” Seth explains.

“So, this isn’t the first time they ruined all the eggs in the house?”

Seth’s eyes shimmer with humor. “Nope.”

It’s not long before breakfast is ready. Each of our plates is filled with thick, fluffy pancakes that are topped with fruit and syrup. Crispy rashers of bacon adorn the side, completing the meal.

“You’re a genius,” I say after taking my first bite. “You’re seriously an amazing cook.”

“Thanks,” Seth says, flashing me a grin.

“We’re great at barbecue,” Simon quips.

Oliver nods, grinning. “We’ll make you the best smoked brisket you’ve ever tasted!”

Silence soon falls over us as we hurriedly gobble up the delicious pancakes and bacon.

“I’m going to be so bored when you guys are gone,” I say, sipping my hot coffee.

“I almost forgot to show you the stuff Simon and Oliver brought from your home,” Seth says.
