“That’s bullshit,” I say, chuckling.

“Let me check if there’s anything in Gary’s wardrobe,” says Simon, walking into the closet on the other side of the room.

He takes his time in there, finally coming out with an armful of clothes.

“Here are your options,” he says, dropping them on the bed beside me.

“Is he married?” I ask, looking through the women’s clothing.

“Nah,” says Oliver. “They’re probably stuff left by the women he dates.”

“Ew,” I mutter, dropping a skimpy red dress back on the heap.

After going through everything that he’s brought me, I choose a T-shirt and a pair of denim chinos. Hoping the pants won’t slide off my bony ass, I get up from the bed.

“Do you guys mind giving me five minutes?” I ask, glancing at them. “I’d like to take a quick shower before leaving.”

“Rory wants to look good for Seth,” Simon says, looking annoyed. “Lucky bastard.”

I turn away to hide the blush spreading on my cheeks and enter the bathroom.

A foreign male scent pervades the space, making me uncomfortable.

Instead of complaining, I start pulling down my heavy dress. A quick glance at the clear glass mirror on the wall shows me that there are barely any bruises visible on my pale skin. My thinness is the only sign that’s left from my days as a captive.

Again, I think of Seth. He’s the only reason I’m safe and reunited with my family. Now that fate’s giving me another chance, I’ll make sure he understands how much he means to me.

I take a quick shower and avoid the musk-scented body soaps and shampoos. The very idea of smelling like a strange man is repellant to me. So, I let the hot, steamy water wash away the terror I felt last night when Kelso grabbed me.

My body and mind relax, allowing me to look forward to the day.

Stepping out of the shower, I dry off with a towel and put on the denim trousers. They’re loose around my hips but thankfully, don’t slide off my ass.

Next, I try on the T-shirt. The black material hangs off my bony shoulders, failing to conceal my malnourished body.

Using a hair dryer, I spend a long time styling my hair to make it look voluminous, hoping it’d help me look less emaciated. My thick ebony waves cover my shoulders, hiding my jutting bones.

I find some makeup products in one of the cabinets by the mirror. Despite being grossed out by the used stuff, I apply generous amounts on my face to add some color and fullness to my cheeks.

Despite my efforts, the makeup does very little to hide my thinness. A part of me wants to break down and weep in a corner, but the prospect of seeing Seth again keeps me motivated.

Taking a deep breath, I look away from the mirror and walk out of the bathroom.

Simon and Oliver straighten up the moment they see me. Identical grins spread on their faces, lifting my spirit at once. I wonder what they see in me to light up like that.

“Ready to go?” Oliver asks, stepping up to me.

“Yeah, but are we going to leave the place like this?” I ask, gesturing at the untidy bed. The twins had been lounging on it, leaving shoe prints all over the snowy-white sheets and blankets.

They shrug their shoulders in unison. “Gary’s family has a dozen maids working for them. I’m sure they’ll take care of it.”

Coming beside me, Simon wraps an arm around my shoulder and pulls me against him. His fresh lemony scent spreads around me, making me feel secure at once. “Don’t worry about a thing when you’re with us, Princess. We’ll take care of everything for you.”

Oliver opens the door and comes to stand on my other side. Wrapping an arm around my waist, he leads us out into the hallway.

A warm blush spreads on my cheeks. The twins make me feel desired, silencing my self-loathing thoughts.

Shafts of golden sunshine paint the marbled floors as we walk down the corridor. We meet a few valets who seem to recognize the twins. They shout out loud greetings and the brothers return them enthusiastically.
