Sandwiched between Simon and Oliver, I truly feel secure. The anxiety I felt last night at being in a stranger’s house has gone away completely. The absence of guests and reporters is also helping me breathe easier.

Since it’s still early, we escape without having to meet any of the Richmonds.

Stepping outside the house, I breathe in a lungful of cold, fresh air. Bright sunlight shines on the two men beside me, turning their raven strands to a shade of gold.

“Wait here,” says Oliver, stepping away from me. “I’ll go get our car.”

“Hurry up!” Simon shouts as Oliver breaks into a run and sprints toward the other side of the mansion.

“Simon,” I say, glancing up at him. “Do you want to call Seth and tell him you’re bringing me over?”

His eyes widen. “Wait...you can tell us apart?”

“Obviously,” I say, choosing to tease him. “I spent an entire night with you and your brother. That’s more than enough time for me to figure you guys out.”

“No, no, no,” he says, shaking his head. “Only our close family can tell us apart.”

“You guys have fun confusing people, don’t you?” I ask, chuckling. “That’s why you keep the same hairstyle and wear the same clothes.”

“Well, yeah,” he says without a hint of embarrassment.

He draws me closer and drops a kiss on my head. “I knew you were special, Rory.”

The gesture sends warmth rising in my chest. I can’t believe how happy and carefree Simon and Oliver make me feel.

The loud rumble of a car engine makes me look down the driveway. A massive black truck, similar to the one Seth drives, comes to a stop beside us.

Oliver’s head pokes out through the window. “Hop in!”

Simon helps me into the front seat and soon, I’m squeezed between the twins.

My excitement surges as the truck starts moving down the street. “So, where are we going?”

“Have you heard of Old John’s?” Oliver asks as he drives through the morning traffic.

“Dad used to take me there every time we came to visit Jersey,” I tell him. “It’s his favorite diner. He just can’t have enough of their pies.”

“It sounds like Mayor Bailey has excellent taste,” Simon says. “We love their pies too.”

I chuckle, thinking about my dad and his cute pot belly. The man loves his pastrami sandwiches and pecan pies.

“I should probably tell him where I am,” I say. “But, wait...my phone.” A groan escapes me as I realize I don’t have it with me. “I must’ve dropped my purse when that asshole cornered me.”

“Looking for this, Princess?” Simon says, reaching inside his jacket and pulling out my purse.

“How did you get my purse?” I ask, grinning with relief. “I thought I lost the whole thing.”

“We told you not to worry,” says Oliver. “We’re here to take care of you.” His tone is light but I don’t miss the sincerity in his voice. I glance toward Simon as he hands me my phone.

They make me feelsogood. It’s astonishing to think I’ve known them for less than twenty-four hours. The warmth washing over me makes me feel like I’ve known them forever.

The truck slows down, jerking me against Oliver. Glancing outside the window, I catch sight of a neat street that’s lined with restaurants and boutique shops.

Oliver drives us to the parking lot and brings the truck to a stop.

Simon moves ahead and opens the door for me. Catching hold of my waist, he easily lifts me out of the truck. The closeness has me catch a lungful of his fresh, zingy scent. My mouth waters immediately and a deep throb goes through my core.

He doesn’t notice the effect he has on me because his whole attention is on Oliver who’s striding toward us. My heart races in my chest, making me realize how much I like both Simon and Oliver.
