“I still have that little ranch out in the valley? It’s beautiful this time of year. There’s a river that runs through it and a big farmhouse with one of those wraparound porches like you always wanted. And a swing that we can sit on in the evenings and cuddle in while the sun goes down and the fireflies come out.”

I smile at him and my heart feels like it’s about to wing out of my chest. “You make it sound so wonderful.”

“Because it is. I’m getting tired of always being on like some damn show pony. I don’t know how you feel about never having any privacy but I can’t stand it anymore.”

“Yeah,” I sigh. “It is getting old. I thought about going away for awhile until the reporters and stupid paparazzi hopefully forgot all about it.”

“Fat chance of that. Face them head on with me and we’ll weather the storm.”

I eye him uncertainly. “Should we try? It didn’t work the last time.”

“Because I was a jealous idiot. Now I know better. I will never let you walk away from me again. Even if I have to tie you to the bed.”

Smiling, I touch his thigh, grinning when he jumps and his heated stare lands on me. “Don’t tempt me.”

“I think I’d like to tempt you a lot.”

“We’ll face them later. You’ll killing me, baby.”

He whips the car around and heads back to his house. Then he pulls in the drive and leans over to touch his lips to mine, his deep sigh caressing my cheek. “Are you sure about this?”

Shrugging, I lean into him and moan. “As sure as I am that I have missed you so much. It’s a damn ache in my soul.”

“Let’s fix that.”

He drags me across the console and out of the car, throwing me over his shoulder. Then he jogs up the steps and into the bedroom. He tosses me on the bed and I giggle when I bounce.

“Strip. Now.” His hoarse growl ratchets up the want in me and I don’t bother arguing. This is what I need. What I’ve always needed.

CHAPTER8

Garrett

She’s the most stunning woman I’ve ever seen. Her eyes are dark and narrowed with desire, her pale cheeks flushed, her breasts heaving like a wild animal.

I rip my shirt off over my head and dance on one foot, ripping my jeans off so fast that I almost fall right on my face.

Her smile is like a siren’s call and I can’t resist it. I never could.

I crawl up her body and settle over her, my lips seeking hers, my hands kneading and tugging at her full breasts while she whimpers and grinds up into my hips.

“Don’t stop,” she sighs heavily, her arms twining in my hair and the sweet scent of her lust building all around me like the world’s most perfect perfume.

“I won’t. I can’t. I don’t know how long I can last.”

Her hips come up and she wraps those luscious long legs around my hips, rubbing along me like a cat in heat.

“Slow down, baby girl.” I hold her down with my hips and she whines and groans.

“I don’t want to slow down. Ineedyou.”

I grit my teeth and pull myself back. “I gotta get you ready, baby. I don’t know about you but it’s been a helluva long time for me.”

“There hasn’t been anybody since you,” she pants and struggles to push up into me.

“Then let me make you feel good.”

I slip down and pull her breasts inside my mouth, raking her berry nipple with my teeth.
