My stomach churned at the mere thought.

“Please,” she cried, placing her cheek on my shoulder and clutching my elbow. “You have to get my baby back. We need to continue our bloodline, our species. You know what happens when they take them.”

Gaian stared at me in confusion. “What does she mean by that?”

I pressed my lips together and looked down at the wooden floorboards with tears in my eyes. I didn’t even want to say it out loud. I couldn’t bear the thought of hearing it come out of my mouth. What he was doing to those babies … it was pure torture.

What I couldn’t understand through this all was why he hadn’t tried to get me pregnant. Why would he force people to rape me every night and not want me to get pregnant like the rest of the females, like Mom, like Hellana?

He didn’t want me pregnant for a reason. He didn’t want me to mate for a reason.

“I’ll tell you later,”I said through the mind link.“I can’t say it aloud. Not here.”

Truthfully, I didn’t want to say it through the mind link either.

“You have to save her,” she sobbed.

“I’m going to do everything I can,” I repeated again, picking her up into my arms and handing her to Gaian. “Take her to the pack doctor. He can keep her alive until Thayer comes. Then, Thayer can heal her wounds, like he healed mine.”

Once Gaian nodded, I hurried out of the house and back to the pack house. I wasn’t supposed to be walking through the pack alone—or anywhere for that matter—but we had bigger problems on our hands.

Babies were being taken and used for that fucker’s own wishes. He was stealing life and making humans into Paragons, a more supreme species than demons, wolves, vampires, fairies—hell, every other speciescombined.

“Darius,”I said through the mind link,“once you find Thayer, please track the baby.”

After I received a slight hum for a response, I hurried into the pack house to gather as many vials of vampire blood and herbs as I could find. Something told me that we would need them soon.

Those fuckers had snuck onto our property and stolen a baby. They were getting desperate. They needed more blood in order to build their army, more blood than what they already had.

And I needed to save everyone, even Mom.

She didn’t deserve that life, no matter how much she blamed herself. She deserved to live out the rest of her days in peace, not heavily pregnant and being raped constantly. It wasn’t fair to anyone.

Once I retrieved the vials, I hurried back to the front door, about to exit the house, when Darius rushed into the room with sweat dripping down his forehead and a worried expression on his face.

“Sina …”

“You’re supposed to be tracking the baby,” I said, furrowing my brows.

What was he doing here? What could be more important than this? Granted, they didn’t know what myfatherwas doing to the kids. If someone stole a pup from their pack, they’d be on their tail quicker than anything.

“We have a problem,” Darius said.

“I don’t care if we—”

Calder stumbled into the house with blood gushing from a gaping wound in his neck and spurting from his mouth. He dropped to his knees in front of me, eyes rolling to the back of his head and body smacking against the wooden floorboards.

“Kill him,” he grunted, voice parched. “Kill Jaroth.”

I collapsed on my knees next to him, a cry escaping my mouth. What the hell had happened? Who had given him this—

When my knees hit the ground, I spotted Jaroth lying in a puddle of his own blood behind Calder with his body shredded to pieces from what looked to be Calder’s claws.
