“You repulse me Nutmeg,” I said, not meaning it even a tiny bit.

“I hate you Adonis.” she said with a flirty smile.

“Good, shall we…” I started to ask.

“Go and put on a show? I’m ready. After you.” she said and gestured for me to head into the house first.

Part of me wanted to hang back and talk to her about everything, but now wasn’t the time. We both knew that Lorenzo had sent me after her, and that he would be aware that we had both already pulled into the garage.

I walked ahead and as I pushed open the door to the house, she shrieked at me.

“You fucking followed me?”

I forced back the smile that was tugging at my mouth and put on my usual pissed off arsehole face and kept walking.

“Don’t walk away from me Adonis, I want an explanation now.” she yelled; her aggression highlighted by the loud clatter of her heels against the marble floor as she followed me down the corridor towards the foyer.

I remained silent and glared at Lorenzo as he leaned against the doorframe of his office and surveyed the pair of us.

“You.” She pointed at him and walked away from me to his office door.

I stayed where I was, curiosity getting the better of me.

“You sent him after me didn’t you. I went out for coffee, coffeeLorenzo, being in this house with the pair of you is driving me insane.”

“You can go out unsupervised when you’ve earned my trust back amore mio.” he said and smiled a cruelly at her.

“Trust,” she scoffed, “You don’t know the meaning of the word.”

“Enough, don’t push me this morning.” Lorenzo said calmly.

I smirked at them, and he looked up at me and mirrored my expression.Fool.

Nutmeg span around to see what he was looking at and as her back was turned to him, she tossed me a mischievous grin, then snapped again.

“Oh fuck off Adonis, go and shove your head back upDaddy’sass.”

I barked a laugh at her. I was actually amused, but as far as Lorenzo could see, I was mocking her.

I looked over her head and spoke directly to Lorenzo, “You sure you want to marry that?”

“Her filthy mouth has plenty more uses.” he said, and anger flared deep inside me. I held it down though and instead threw them both a disgusted look.

She screeched like a banshee, and I had to admire her dedication. She stormed past me, shoving me with her shoulder and muttering incoherently under her breath. I swear I heard her say ‘good job’, but I wasn’t sure.

Lorenzo beckoned me to his office, and I reluctantly stepped forward. Once I was inside with the door closed, he spoke.

“Coffee?” he asked.

“I found her at some coffee shop in the city, I don’t know if she’s hiding anything, but she was alone.” I lied.

“I don’t want her going there again, at least if she goes to that place where Grey’s sister works, I have better control.”

“How do you plan on stopping her?” I asked.

He sat down at his desk and looked deep in thought for a moment.

“Close it down.” he said.
