“Make’s sense, want me to handle it?” I knew that he had violent intentions. Lorenzo always had violent intentions.

“Maybe.” he said and scratched his smooth chin. “Grey is getting a little twitchy though, so he might need this.”

I nodded, “Sure, I have paperwork to look through.” I said and turned to the door.

“I think she really does hate you.” he said, and I nodded as satisfaction washed over me.

“I think so too.”

“I need more than that.” I said, trying not to sound as frustrated as I felt, “If you don’t come through with something better then you’re not getting paid.”

A knock sounded on my bedroom door, and I cursed as I spun around and saw that it was open, and Nutmeg was standing in the doorway with a curious look on her face.

“Do better.” I snapped down the phone and hung up. “How long have you been standing there?” I asked her.

“Not long, that sounded interesting though, what was it?” she said and folded her arms under her breasts.

“Nothing.” I said dismissively, “Do you need something?”

“Lorenzo’s going out soon.” she said, and her gaze turned dark and dirty.

“Oh.” I breathed, “first we should talk, about the other day?”

We hadn’t been alone since we left my apartment a couple of days ago. After our little show that morning when we got home, she had gone back to hiding away from everyone. I thought that maybe she regretted what had happened, so I pushed my focus onto other things. But the look in her eyes right now said that I was wrong.

“Why?” she asked, lowering her voice.

“Because, I need to know, what do you want?” I said, shaking my head at her.

“You.” she said seductively, and my cock twitched inside my trousers. But I needed to ignore it for a minute and get a real answer out of her. That kind of answer would have been fine coming from any random girl, but Nutmeg wasn’t just some random girl.

“And?”

“Don’t make it weird Donny.” she said quietly.

“It’s already weird.” I retorted.

“I know,” she said and bit down on her lip.

I closed the distance between us to tug her lip free and she smiled softly.

“You know you and Toby both do that right?” she asked.

I shook my head, “So neither of us enjoy knowing we’ve made you nervous. Now will you talk to me properly? Or are you going to keep avoiding it and just attempt to fuck me instead?”

“Avoid.” she said lightly.

“Wrong answer.” I dropped my hand from her chin and turned my back on her. “Come back when you want to talk, I have stuff to handle.”

“What stuff?” she asked.

“The death of arelative.” I said.

“You better not be-.”

I span back to face her, “I am. I will. Stop telling me not to.” I snapped. “He’s mine.”
