When I stood up at the foot of the bed and looked back at the two men, I froze. Toby was still asleep, but his arm was now around Don’s waist, and he was nuzzling into his arm. Don’s eyes snapped open and met mine.

“No, don’t wake him.” I pleaded quietly. Holding back laughter at how uncomfortable Adonis looked.

His features darkened and his usual pissed off arsehole look was set firmly on his face.

“I told him not to touch me.” he hissed.

I moved around to his side of the bed and crouched down beside him.

“I think stabbing him once was enough, go back to sleep Donny, I’ll see you at the house later?” I asked.

A pained look crossed his face and I frowned.

“Maybe, but we will have to keep our distance, act like we still hate each other.” he whispered.

I smirked at him, “Who says I don’t. You still annoy me.”

The corner of his mouth tipped up, “Same.”

I leaned in close to his face and brushed my lips against his, “See you later tough guy.”

He growled deep in his throat and tugged me closer, kissing me like he hated me. I sank my teeth into his lower lip, and his fingers twisted painfully in my hair.

I reluctantly pulled away. If I didn’t go now I never would. I glanced across Dons chest at Toby and smiled. I still had no idea how this would work, but I didn’t care. We would find out. Somehow, I’d gone from being a girl who had no idea how to date, to a woman with two secret guys and a psychotic fiancé.What the hell has my life become?

I tossed my hair up into a bun and jumped into the shower and washed quickly, not worrying too much since I’d need to wash again once I got back to the house. I couldn’t risk Lorenzo getting a whiff of the manly scent of the only soap in this bathroom. I pulled on my leggings - sans underwear - and sports bra before ruffling my hair with my fingers until it hung around my shoulders in what I hoped looked like a deliberate mess. Grabbing my bag I swiped on my red lipstick and pulled on my leather jacket and ran out of the door.

Once I was in my car, I took a few calming breaths. I was going to be late. I didn’tdolate. I was always 10 minutes early. Tardiness made me uncomfortable, but this meeting was important, so I needed to just get the hell over it and drive.

He was waiting for me when I pulled into the driveway. An amused expression on his face as I jumped out of my Audi and ran up the path.

“Sorry I’m late.” I said quickly.

Charon handed me a cup of coffee and guided me around the side of the house to a small, enclosed garden and led me to a bench by the back fence.

“Adonis called and told me you would be.” he said with a smile.

“How the fuck did he know I was coming here?” I asked, vaguely aware that I was speaking to my,boyfriends?dad. I should have been holding back on the aggression and cursing and trying to win him over, but this guy already knew what I was like. I had a reputation, and I wasn’t just known for my marksmanship skills.

Charon shrugged and sipped his coffee. I followed suit and groaned at the taste; it was good coffee. I wondered if he had made it himself of if Yvette had.

“Does it matter?” he asked.

Did it?I trust Don, I think. But I also didn’t want him interfering with my plans for Lorenzo.

“I suppose not,” I said, “But I need to know that whatever we discuss will not get back to him.” I glared at him, showing no fear around the man who was quite frankly the biggest, meanest looking bastard I’d ever met in my life. And I knewa lotof big mean bastards.

He held my gaze and nodded slowly, “Sure thing. So what did you want to talk about?” he asked.

“Lorenzo.” I said.

His lip pulled back at myfiance’sname.

“I thought so, are you still sticking with the plan we discussed last time.” he said but I shook my head.

“I have a new idea, I just need your support, like backup I guess, in case it gets messier than I’m anticipating.” I said, then filled him in on my wedding plan.

Charon shook his head at me, “You can’t take him down alone.” he said, “I’d know, I’ve tried.”
